when should a seller and buyer leave feedback?

There will never be a unanimous decision on this subject, if you'd read all the threads that you imply in your original post you would already know this.
And as for presumptious.... *falls off chair laughing at the hypocrisy*:dance:One good turn gets most of the duvet!! :dance:0 -
when i buy stuff teh seller tends to leave feedback when the item is sent, i sometimes reply by saying ill post feedback when item is in my handsNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Although this has been covered time and time again, as you asked, I will answer: As a buyer,I leave feedback when I have received the item. As a seller, I leave it when the buyer has left theirs. Why?? because, if I leave a positive for the buyer as soon as they have paid, there is nothing stopping them leaving me a negative saying goods not rec'd, stinky stuff, parts missing etc, at which point, I have already left them a positive. I consider when the buyer has rec'd the item, that completed the transaction then feedback can be made. I always leave feedback when I have rec'd the goods mainly to acknowledge receipt. If someone I sell to doesn't leave me feedback, then neither do I. Sorry as I don't think it's the pov that you wanted to hear, but you asked........0

As a seller I never leave feedback until the buyer does. Because until they leave me feedback saying they are happy and everything has arrived and is all OK then the transaction to me is not over. What if something was wrong and they needed to return it? Then it wouldn't be finished until they had returned the item to me and I had refunded them in full and then I'd leave feedback depending on the WHOLE experience.
Slightly off topic but can we please curb the name calling and general mud slingingThanks peeps!

for the hundreth time lol...
as a seller i do not leave fb until the buyer does - because for me the transaction is complete when the buyer has recieved the item and is happy that there doesnt need to be a return made or anything else...as a buyer i dont expect to get fb until i have left fb for the seller:rolleyes: Democracy is a process by which the people are free to choose the man who will get the blame.:j0 -
Just before this thread is locked as many of the other feedback threads have been - feedback is optional once the transaction is complete. How can the transaction be complete before the item has been posted and received??? It is only complete when the buyer confirms they are happy with the product, normally by leaving feedback.
As a seller, I want to see how a buyer deals with any problems that may arise - do they contact me to discuss an amicable solution where everyone is happy and positive feedback can be left, or do they neg me after 3 days to say the item has not arrived but have not contacted me to discuss?
If they buyer is trigger happy with feedback, then I will neg back as a warning to other sellers. I have cancelled many bids from buyers who have feedback that indicates they do not try to resolve problems - and I have no hesitation in telling them why I cancelled their bid.
Harsh, maybe, but good manners and communication costs nothing - if a buyer can't afford that then I do not want their business. A buyers obligations go beyond prompt payment...
As an aside - if buyer ever asks me where their feedback is, I make sure they get none!!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Thanks peeps!
Couldn't agree more. I was gobsmacked at the horrid response I got when I posted on here. Thanks for replying to the original question those who did. But I won't be straying down this end of the boards again, for just this reason.0 -
