Hope things have been resolved and that you havent been conned out of the blue badge.
If it has been taken off your brother legitametley (spelt wrong i know!) as it wasnt being used correctly will they issue another one?
Thanks hjb123.
My dad and bro went to the CAB. The CAB have suggested to hang fire for a couple of week and see what happens.
If it is legit and my dad gets a fine/prosecution etc - then we could visit the CAB again for advise on appeal etc.
My bro then rung the council who said again wait for about a month. If they get the card back - they will fwd to him. If they don't - he can reapply.
All depts were very understanding and my bro and dad told them the truth.0 -

It is obvious from reading this thread that alot of people do not understand the rules and that your Dad, as carer, misunderstood the rules like alot of us. This thread has brought it all into the clear and I think we all have learnt from your strssful time recently.
Good luck with the 'card'.Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave0 -
According to the rules on the Department for Transport website you CAN legally wait in the car.
Yes, you're right - it's not illegal.
They advise you that it's not really "on" to do this, but there's no law with it.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Although not illegal, it makes me mad. If the person who is entitled to the blue badge isn't actually getting out of the car what's the point in taking a spot for a disabled person who might actually want to get out of the car? Seems pointless...Anyways, just wanted to vent! ThanksThank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

I agree, but it's not illegal..
My OH is very disabled, and one thing guaranteed to send me off on one is the abuse (in any way) of disabled bays.
Those that just abuse it, obviously don't need it.
We do.
I wish I had more faith in the alleged "clamp-down" on badge abuse, and the promises to prosecute those who do it.

It's when I see people who have the supermarket parent & toddler permit things in their windows and think coz they're spaces are all full they can park where they like, i.e. disabled bays. Wish I had the courage to actually say something. Then again, it's not my job, it's the supermarkets job.
We could go on all day!Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

I agree Lin, the local supermarket I go to has disabled bays and every time I go I see some without a blue badge and they run from the car etc they just do not consider the disabled at all - they see a space and have no qualms about parking there!
One time I saw this chap walking around with a book, I spoke to him and he said that they check the disabled bays and they take note of the ones that are illegally parked and place a warning on the windscreen. If they park there again they get a fine - apparently!
It is so frustrating especially when you have problems walking any distance. I live alone and although my neighbour is always telling me to phone anytime if I need anything and my sister comes over once a week (sometimes doing the shopping) to help out, I really try and go myself once a week to get a few things if only to get out of the house.
People do not realise how important these bays are - just no consideration!0 -
The problem is that supermarket carparks are by and large private car parks. That doesn't make it any better but it means that supermarkets can choose how strictly they control their parking.0

How about putting a note on their windscreen
YOU TOOK MY PARKING SPOT DO YOU WANT MY DISABILITY AS WELL!!!0 -
Abuse of parking spaces at supermarkets really annoys me. It's the height of ignorance.
With regard to the OP, the father was abusing the Blue badge. It's for the disable person to use, not friends and family.Happy chappy0
