Blue Badge has been confiscated !!! - ADVISE Please

Both my husband and I have blue badges, when I go shopping he drives and waits in the free parking space while I go to the shops in my mobility scooter although I can walk slowly and with great difficulty my husband can't walk more than 10 yards. My question is, is he allowed to wait for me with both badges on show.0

It is the badge holder's responsibility to ensure that the badge is used properly. It is no good saying "I didn't think" or "I didn't know". The rules are straightforward and very clear, so use it properly and retain the respect of other road users. Play your part.
You must not allow other people to use your badge. It cannot be used by someone to fetch your medicine for you, however urgent your medicine is.
To reduce the risk of accidental mis-use, you should remove the badge when you are not actually using the parking concession.
You must also ensure that the details on the badge remain legible. If they become unreadable, the badge must be returned to the local authority for re-issue.
The badge should not be used to allow non-disabled people to take advantage of the benefits while you sit in the car. Although it is not actually illegal for you or a badge holder to sit in the car whilst waiting for someone, you should have more consideration and leave the parking space for other disabled people by making use of an ordinary car park whenever possible.

You need to contact the local authority who issued it and tell them what has happened.
Then, you need to contact the local police station, who will probably know whether it's a scam or not.
It may be legitimate, as authorities are cracking down on badge abuse.
It's likely that the authorities will take a dim view of the badge being used inappropriately, but they may just issue a warning this time.
But, you do need to advise the authorities that the badge is no longer in your possession.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

If you're the one actually out of the car, then just display your badge.
There's only any need to display one anyway.
Legally, you cannot use a badge if you are waiting in the car, as it's for people to get to and from the car with ease.

According to the rules on the Department for Transport website you CAN legally wait in the car.If you're the one actually out of the car, then just display your badge.

Although it is not illegal for a badge holder, or a non-disabled person waiting for the badge holder to return, to remain in the vehicle while the Blue Badge is displayed, consideration should be given to using a car park wherever possible.Torgwen..........

I take on board what everyone has said and can only apologise on my families behalf. We were HONESTLY under the impression that errands could be run for a BB holder - clearly this is not the case.
I can however assure those concerned that this will NOT happen again.
However i now need to resolve this issue as after reading some of your posts and doing some further research - there could be a possibility that we may have been scammed.
We propose to visit the CAB to begin with then maybe the Police Station. If they are who they say they are - surely the police should have information about this.
Then we propose to visit the council as my brother needs his card back (or a replacement) ASAP.
Thanks0 -
hi i would definately go to the police station explain everything show them the leaflet and find out if this is a scam, if it is then they need to know to try and protect others, it does sound a little strange, unless someone had been stirring things on the benefit action line that these people happened to come across the car and be waiting within 15 minsIf you want the rainbow you have to go through the rain.

The blue badge does not cover the car itself , it covers the disabled person whilst using the car.0
