i just got sky tv and broadband in but couldn't receive broadband as it turned out worse than a dial up connection. Sky + box
Had sky engineers out to try to fix it but ended up with no solution.

I had to cancel Sky along with the tv but was still in cooling period so didn't have to pay except for the basic tv which was £20.00 all together.

Am i entitled to keep the sky box?

My mum has sky basic and they put up her monthly cost, i was going to ring them to cancel as it's too much for her to keep, but can if i cancel mums will she also be able to view free-view channels?

In theory, the box doesn't become your property till you've paid for it. So you'll have to make it available for collection, on request.

Sky don't have broadband engineers, do you mean BT Openreach?
What was wrong with your line?
The Sky TV box is yours after 12 months, if you cancel your subscription you recieve Freesat from Sky, the recording facilities, if its a Sky + box, are disabled.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Your Mum can only get Freeview via an aerial, it is a terrestial service. Sky is a satellite service via a dish.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Possibly, however Sky may require the box back or payment for it,they may also require an installer to return & de-instal the Sky system & cabling.
Can't see them 'giving' you a £xx box & install for nothing when they have not gotten anything back in return.
