Printer not printing my letters

Hi all,

This is my first time on this board. I'm wondering if you can help with my problem.

I have a Brother DCP-115C printer. It has been working fine but since lastnight it won't print. I have three letters I need to send urgently but once I have sent through they don't print. When I click on the printer to check the status it just says there is an error printing. But again, this is not all the time.

I have switched the printer off and on again but my letters are still not printing. Is there anything else I can do.

Thanks

have you replaced one of the cartridges, have you checked the manual for any troubleshooting tips and the brother website for any help pages

Have been trying the site for a little while but my browser keeps coming up with page not found! The cartridges were new and inserted when I installed the printer three weeks ago. For the life of me I can't find the manual anywhere...

Am I missing something? I hope someone knows a away to get it working agan ASAP.

How is the printer connected? USB or parallel port?

    1) Is the printer plugged in properly? Try unplugging everything and then re connecting.

    2) Check your printers option from the control panel to see if the printer is still installed (something may have removed it)

    3) Check Control Panel > System > Device manager. Are there any yellow exclamation marks or similar anywhere. If so this would suggest a problem with the device that it is next to (possibly the printer)

    4) Have you tried removing and then reinstalling the latest driver for the printer?

    5) Have you recently installed any new hardware / software?

try changing font to another colour that may get them printed at least.

johngc, have tried your suggestions. There aren't any yellow exclamation marks anywhere. I also haven't installed any new hardware or software. It was fine 2 days ago......I just don't know what else to do.

lemontart, thanks for your suggestion. I tried it but it didn't work. I feel so stupid because I can't even fix my own printer!

unplug it from your computer with the speakers on.

Do you hear a "da-duh" sound?

    Try a different USB port?
