cheers Suzie - it just goes to show even for a seasoned voucher user like me I don't always have it my own way. In the whole scheme of things as I said to the Manager we are only talking about a few barcoded pieces of paper - I haven't killed anyone, I haven't damaged anything, it is only paper and I am just trying to save some money.

    Welshy x
;) I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL ;)
  • I hope you are ok welshy. I think my tescos are watching me to. I don't buy loads, just try to get what we need toilety and healthcare wise for free! But when I went to pay today another sa saw me, turned around and winked at the young lad I was going to use and then he said "we can only take 10 coupons from you, thats the limit". I politely explained that in the past he had taken however many vouchers I handed over but he was having none of it! Ended up paying about £30 extra than I should of done. In only live in a small town so only have one store to choose from and am unsure now whether to just keep the stuff or try and return some.

aww welshy ((hugs))) hopw awful for you. I hope it gets sorted with minimum of fuss for you, after all you were using tesco specific vouchers, i cant see what her problem is!
I rely on my dad taking me shopping and my sister on her days off, we can go to 5 tescos if were lucky and very often cruise them looking for vouchers and young lads on tills ;) But like everyone on here if my vouchers arent accepted i fell a little embarrassed :o but i put them away for the next week. I had the awful experiance with the clothes vouchers at one store and yet the next week a girl took all my toiletry vouchers no problem, she even forgot to scan a cat collar :);) My usual Tesco had a spate of 3 weks where there wasnt a young lad in sight let alone "my" lad, (he was on holiday) We avoided the shop until he was back :) but just in case my friend found a young girl who scans anything without question :)

Gosh Welshy what a horrid thing to happen. I do not ever have huge amounts of coupons, except the last week or so thanks to leadheads donations, but I would hate to be singled out in the way you were. Certainly with some of the SAs I get the impression that the value of any coupons used is being deducted from their wage packets. Yet in the very same shop are SAs who are happy to take loads, and I am talking permanent staff, so surely it can't be down to store policy but just bl**dy minded staff who take it upon themselves to make up the policies.

    Hope you soon feel better

Sorry about all the upset you've had Welshy. Try not to let it get to you. But if you dont get the answer your after from the store manager take it higher up the chain.

The long & short of it is thats its harrasment & bullying. Nobody should be made to feel singled & you were abidling by the coupons rules so you have nothing to worry about.

    I've been Money Tipped!
welshy. You are a customer. They have no right to make you feel like that at all using Tesco issued coupons in a tesco store.

You are right to feel upset and angry as it seems you're being hounded. you did the right thing by asking to speak to the manger there and then.

Has he given you a date by which he'll get back to you? If not, I'd write a letter after about 10 days asking where he was up to with it? Send it recorded. if no response a week after that, write to HO again.

I've now had to write to Sir Terry twice about being made to feel like I'm in the wrong by staff for using the DtD policy (to clarify I shop, then check my receipt, am not a prowler!). You feel reassured that Ho is keeping an eye then. However, it doesn't stop you feeling like you don't even want to walk into that store. But lets face it, you probably don't want to shop there anymore anyway, and a severe dressing down isn't going to stop that supervisor watching you everytime she spots you.

If I were in your position, I'd do all the above, then only ever use that branch for mystery shopping.

Life's too short to have to get upset by an obsessive supervisor who should be bowing at the knowledge you possess and learning from you rather than hounding you. Who gains from her animosity? :confused:Have to feel sorry for her if all she has to do is count your coupon use. Feel more sorry for her collegues TBH having to tolerate working with her!

Chin up lovely...eyes on the free holiday!:T:T:T:T

well where do I start, I have gone through all the emotions, upset, tears, anger and no it's not because I have just run out of vouchers.

    Right, here goes:

DS had swimming lessons so I decided to pop in my local Tescos try to avoid it but I was in a rush. I had split my shopping into 3 lots, using only the tesco specific vouchers. Lady on the till is pleasant and friendly and was just about to scan my vouchers when my old "friend" shouts across only accept vouchers for things she has bought - which was in reality all of them, anyway, SA would only accept my points vouchers, h&b and cat food (fine) and a £2.50 SB voucher. That was OK I didn't argue. I was abit miffed at the supervisor though as since I complained about her in the summer 2006 she is horrible whenever she can be,

Off I truddle to CS to pick up some photos, she comes up, hands over a white slip and my vouchers I had just used and mutters to CS lady this is what she has handed over today. Then realising I was stood there she would not make eye contact.

As I stood waiting for my photos, I thought right just walk away, then I thought no not this time, (she has previously followed me around the store), so shaking and visibly upset I asked to see the Manager who arrived.

I asked if we could go somewhere private and we ended up in the cafe - I explained the situation and burst into tears whilst shaking like a leaf. He said he could not understand why my vouchers were at CS and I asked was I being monitored at this store and that this could potentially interfere with a job that I have. He appeared to have no prior knowledge but said he would look into it. I gave him my name and phone no.

When I got home I printed off my complaint letters from June and July last year and Tesco HO replies and gave them to him for this info. He has promised to look into this.

On a £18 shop I used a 1 x £2.50 sb and some pointers that was it ! no manufacure vouchers or internet vouchers purely tesco vouchers.

I have gone past upset now feel angry and have felt paranoid about shopping in that store since the summer of last year but today it all came to a head. I may speak to Tesco HO too depending on the Manager's response.

In the past 8 months I doubt if I have been there more than 6 times apart from when I am on a mystery visit.

Anyway, I am hoping leadhead will give me some advice he is usually spot on

    cheers Welshy x

i'm sorry Welshy, what a horid thing they did to you :(

What about if theres a Q.. dont u feel that people are watching u ?

I always go bright red if a SA queries my vouchers and tries to enforce some particular 'rule' re voucher usage.

I had a clothing shopping spree where the majority of my vouchers were refused. The people in the queue behind didn't look too impressed as I tried to encourage the SA to 'try' them and waited for the CS woman to come over. :o

Going red is worth it for the money that I have saved overall though. I find it quite exhilarating when the coupons go through - although you should hear me moan all the way home when they don't!! ;):D

Edit: Welshy - I've just read about your terrible experience! I think you have a lot more bravery and stamina than I would have. I avoid the shop that refused the clothing vouchers (even though I haven't had problems there before) and use a different store slightly further out. There is absolutely no reason to treat you like that - she is just a vindinctive old mare!
