Echo on mobile phone
I keep getting an echo on my mobile phone - at my end. People I'm speaking with tell me every thing is perfect at their end.
This is the problem. When I talk into my mobile, I hear my own voice with a delayed echo. I've tried factory reset plus a few other things but still the same.
It's a samsung phone with an ASDA sim.
The problem first occurred a couple of weeks ago when I was abroad. I thought when I got back to the UK the problem would disappear but no such luck!
So I took the sim out and put it into an old working phone. Same problem! So the phone cannot be at fault.
Anyone had anything similar? Any solutions?
It's extremely irritating and makes conversations very difficult.

Try running in GSM only mode and see if makes difference0

Try moving to a different location - the issue can be caused by your local base station and will be flagged as a fault, when it's fixed properly - you won't notice anything.0

I used to get this problem with my LG handset. It didn't matter where I was, what time of the day I was, if I was still or moving or if I was calling a mobile or a landline. Sometimes it would be fine but most of the time it was not.
I rarely made calls or needed to take them and the text and email was all fine so I didn't bother to do anything (dealing with 3 mobile leaves you feeling pretty wasted by the end, I had no desire to feel that way).
The only way around it was to do that strange thing I often see people doing (maybe they have the same issue?) where they'd turn the mobile facing upwards and point the microphone at their mouth and the earpeice straight ahead of them then switch repeatedly very quickly at the end of every speach (looks hilarious with one word answers- try not to do this on public transport). Its not so bad if your calling someone you know but if your calling a call center it can get a bit tricky.0 -
This may sound daft, but next time you are on a call turn your in-call volume down. Try that first, see if it works. If that doesn't work, try calling a friend who this normally occurs with, and while you are on the phone to them, ask them to turn their in-call volume down.
It only needs to be a little bit..... Let me know how you get on. Can't remember what one it is that works as it was a long time ago!0 -
i have often got that effect, but bt to talktalk(ubl) and it was a fault with the talk talk hub at local exchnge.0
