If I bought a new car and it was listed as having free fuel or free insurance for a year, I would expect these to be supplied so why should cashback be any different?
Its not compareable IMO.
Cashback is never guaranteed and this is made quite clear on the website. There are also the issues of it not tracking properly due to the users PC set up and cookies and all that malarky too."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
My friends an I are having the same problem with William Hill Vegas - deposit £10 and get £50 cashback. I think that quidco should remove none paying companies from the site and tell them they have done so as they give false promises and people signup for the incentives lose out.0

Our William Hill Vegas was tracked and actually confirmed today so they are a paying company. Perhaps the settings on your computer prevented it being tracked?
Also did you use all of the money on the account as specified? I can't remember the exact details offhand but usually with betting and bingo sites you have to use the money you put on plus any bonus within a certain amount of time for them to track it.0 -
I've pretty much given up on Quidco now. In the early days it was worthwhile, but now I'm seeing more declined transactions, smaller cashbacks anyway and transactions sitting for nearly a year with nothing happening.
I've just noticed a Churchill cashback was declined last month, but because Quidco didn't notify me at the time and I didn't notice until after the 45 claim period, it's now gone for good.
I just do it now on the off chance I might eventually get something, but I certainly don't count on it.0 -
Hi guys, Just thought I would let you know how my complaint was progressing with Quidco. Well its not, I have given them plenty of time and opportunity to give me some kind of customer service but they are not. My lesson is DO NOT have any faith in them solving any issues, because they are incapable.
I could not have provided them with anymore info and my Sky case has been declined 4 times. Anyway I have opened a case against them with Consumer Direct - now known as AdviceGuide. I will try to keep you updated once more. In the meantime I have been using another company for my cashback and up until now have been very pleasantly surprised with their website and service, tracking a hell of a lot faster now too.
Ps: LOL my quidco has a 3 month old Dixons order tracking, highlighted with 'Faster paying - we have struck a deal with this retailer for faster payments, meaning money in your pocket a lot faster'. Suppose its a lot faster than never.0 -
On the flipside, I've just been paid my £60 from Sky via Quidco for taking out broadband and phone.
Took 7 weeks from the order date.
I was actually expecting hassle as Sky confirmed a similar amount a couple of years ago for the same product and I had to tell Quidco that I'd cancelled my order (Sky couldn't connect me to their unlimited product at the time).
I remember Quidco thanking me for my honesty so maybe that smoothed things over this time..0 -
Yep - my Sky cashback tracked and payed out fine when I switched to Sky back in March.
Just a thought for those that have had problems - you do clear all your tracking cookies before you start your transaction through Quidco? It can cause issues with transactions tracking correctly if you have already visited a site previously and not cleared your cookies.
I use Google Chrome for general internet browsing but then switch to Firefox for buying things through Quidco and so avoid any possible conflict in tracking cookies and I rarely have an issue with something not tracking.0 -

IMO, I think shaun is right. When you buy through a cashback site, you are making a contract which includes the cashback site, Quidco in this case. If you can prove you carried out the transaction via Quidco, you should have legal rights against Quidco. Against this is the question of who are Quidco agents for - the purchaser or the supplier/merchant. I say the merchant. But the best thing is to get some legal advice. Many insurance policies include a telephone legal advice service and may also include cover for legal expenses up to say £50k for example. Check your car or home insurance to see if you have this. A solicitor's letter might do the trick.
I don't use Quidco anymore as I had a hell of a job getting my Ocado cashback off them - it took months. Plus they owe me for 2/3 other cashbacks. I find Topcashback very reliable - all praise to them - and they give the extra 1% as well. Recommend them for future transactions.0 -
BaldacchinoR - thast was pretty confusing to read, not at all apparent what your input was. If you want to multi-quote, click the multiquote button (the one with +") on it for each post, then it's obvious what is a quote and what is yours.0

Let me re-iterate cookies is not the issue here, I cleared them prior to ordering. Furthermore when I raised my first claim I could see that the cookie had done their job - ie I was able to chose from a dropdown the date/time of my order, and it was exactly as should have been. I still await Quidco's next response.0
