    Chocolate and vodka :)

10 crates of food seems an awful lot, fortunately we are just two people so an extra tin or two of soup and tuna won't take up much room.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Of course not everything sits in the crates properly, if they did I probably could cut that down somewhat...some items are taller than the crates which does not help either...

Sorry to say but pretty much every thing.
There's been a bad grain crop so not only the grains we use, but also animal feed so meat will go up. Fruit and veggies are in then news today and we already know about the heating price rises :(

yes prices will go up, but if supermarkets raise the price quickly they will end up loosing customers.
Example lets take bread Hovis currently 1.25 in asda, now if that went upto say £2 a loaf people wouldn't buy it, i know i wouldnt, so asda will have to either take the brunt of it and loss a bit of their profits, or increase the price gradually over a period. But so its not as noticably to customers,
as with all foods, WE can choose what to buy and what not to buy.
The shops think they are in control, but guess what if everyone in a particular part of the country stopped using a certain store, their profits would drop a lot in a that area telling that company what we think of them or telling them their prices are to high.
Note: we have the power, after all THEY ARE AFTER OUR MONEY without US they will go under.

People on MSE are concerned about rising prices but if you were to stand in a supermarket and ask people do you read MSE I wonder what sort of % of people do.

Seems to me that we Brits do moan but I very much doubt ppl would boycott stores.

Some of you may be very concerned to read about food going up across the board from meat and vegetables to pulses and pasta.

America has suffered it's worst drought in some years and here in the UK we have had too much of the wet stuff. As a result we are going to have to import allot of food. Russia, who we use allot for wheat for making flour has also had big problems with drought.

You may be interested to read this Daily Mail article today which follows on from the BBC News yesterday about this story:-

There was also a World At One discussion on this on the BBC yesterday which you can hear on iPlayer as well.
