It's my Dad's birthday today so I shall call round to see him later this afternoon to drop off his card and some slices of the Malteser cake I made the other day.

Forgot to say before, this sounds yummy! Did you post the recipe before? Link if you did please! Ty x

Oh forgot to say well done on your stores flutterby respect-037.gif. I think we would all be wise to add a little bit more to our stashes when we have the spare cash while we still have spare cash left to spend IYKWIM

Its easy too do. You only need to keep a few tins of beans, tins of veg,Tins of Rice pudding, A stock of Rice and or pasta, Stuff like that. You never know when you might need it.

Run out of money? can not get to the shops because of illness?
Lost your Job and need to make your money last ?
All of these thing can and do happen. A small amount of long lasting food in the house is a good idea in the long run.

You can build it up slow and cheep. You you go shopping. Put an extra Tin of soup in the trolley then next time an an extra tin of backed beans, Then next time but a tin of butter beans In, Add a bag of lentils some tins of toms you can build it up over time. If one week you are short of cash then use some of what you have. Then replace it when you have a little extra.

This is not a new thing. My Mum use to do it when I was a Kid. My Nan also use to keep some extra in, Just in case.

You don't need to plan for the world to end. You just need to plan your your own hardships,:j:j

Morning, it has rained overnight so the plan to cut the lawn goes by the by. Pleased really as half my garden is REALLY steep and mowing it I always seem to hurt my back. There's ironing waiting to be done, and washing to put on the airer. Main activity today is a disabled only swimming session with my son. It's so lovely as it's really quiet, no-one turns a hair at behaviour that is not 'normal' and my son loves the water. It's lovely to talk to other parents/carers and see their relatives having a good time without anyone staring. I'll then go back to his new home and have lunch with him and perhaps sort a few more bits out there.
I am really behind on some work so will catch up with that the rest of the weekend.
    Have a good one everyone.

    Morning all,

Been raining here most of the night, the garden is drenched, wont be mowing the lawn today then.

More lounge work today, window sill needs painting, plug points can go back on and the radiator can be painted ready to go back on. Hopefully the floor can start going down tomorrow or Mon :j

Got my mum's dog here while she is away, and she is a bit of a spoilt madam, I think she has peed on the sofa, thank god it is covered in dust sheets, so I will need to wash them later.

Got 2 other loads to wash, will have to goon the airers.

HM pizza for dinner, with salad.

Need to drip dd at work.

Oh meant to say picked up a 1940's porcelain loo roll holder (one of those ones that holds the grease proof type sheets) in the cs yesterday, for £3 its beautiful and in mint condition, will put it up in the downstairs loo for decoration :j

    Good Morning Everyone

Overcast and miserable looking here at the moment, pity for people who have plans for this weekend but I am quite enjoying the cool weather. Today I shall mainly be pottering and ironing - the iron pile is huge again - mainly due to my constant tiredness and the hot weather.

Saw the docs yesterday and looks like I have a hormone imbalance so have now got medication and am so looking forward to having some energy again soon.

Think will be something easy like chilli for dinner tonight and plan to have a roast tomorrow - haven't had a home cooked roast for ages.

Thats it for me, hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are doing.x

Just had to share our good news with you all DS & GF got engaged last night. They had talked about it but the date was a big surprise to her. She called me to tell me about 11 o' clock last night which was lovely of her.
Still out running a rally, Skye was spayed on Tuesday, she is OK but it has upset her tummy and sleep pattern!
Take care all and (((hugs))) all round. DG

    morning all!

    weekend off!:j

Have defrosted the fridge freezer and made an inventory of what we've got - more than I realised as usual. Need to make a shopping list as we're off grocery shopping this afternoon when DH gets home.

I've had a quick tidy up and changed the bed. WM is on but it looks a bit showery so may hang it indoors.

Donny - conrgatulations to your DS and his GF:beer:
