The other day I bought several items from B & M and supidly didnt save the receipt as it only came to 2.57 . Later today when i checked my online banking i realised that they have taken the card payment 5 times!!!
Do I have any right to my money back without a receipt??? I know its not a lot of money but im really skint atm and its a lot of money to me.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If they've overcharged you yes... how many times did you enter your pin?0

Are you with Santander? Someone in the library was complaining that Santander was paying everything twice from customers accounts. They do seem to be having some problems. I asked for a new cheque book and got 2 sent.0

what has probably happened, which does sometime happen with card transactions is that they have sent the auth request 5 times, your bank has released the funds into the banks holding account. the retailer then has to take the money from the holding account. the retailer would then only take one lot of money. the money normally drops back after approx 3 days. you can ring your bank who can sometimes speed up the speed of this. it is unfortunately common and caused by a flaw in the card system as a whole. no ones fault really.
Give your bank a ring. they may be able to speed it up for you0 -

B&M have started to issue refunds already. I rang my bank yesterday, and you get an automated message about it on hold. So don't worry too much.0

Thanks for all your advice. I am going to wait til Monday and see if it remedies itself. If not then I shall give my bank a call or return to the store. Wont be paying by card at B & Ms again. I could have had bankcharges if i went overdrawn...thankfully I didnt tho.No More Buying Books: read 0/25; Bought: 0

By the sounds of it it could have happened anywhere.
As for bank charges, B&M have already said if anyone was affected by them, they would cover it.
So no loss overall..0 -
Feel this womans pain after her card was debited a whopping 792 times... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article4480155.ece0

It relates to most transactions made in B&M on Tuesday 21st August.
My account was debited with £11.82 a total of 5 times on Friday 24th August.
My account was credit with £11.82 four times this morning, so no major loss for me!
Mistakes happen, At least B&M spotted the error and corrected it ASAP... They've also confirmed that they'll refund any charges occurred.0
