That is irrational. Your daughter is not in contact with the sex offender. It is the manager and the staff who might need to string the sentence together if the sex offender comes visiting - and if they know about the sex offender, they will know when they need to string the sentence together.Yes, I would definitely move my daughter out of a nursery where an assistant was choosing to live in the same household as a sex offender.
My husband works on the same premises as someone else who is a registered sex offender. It is probable that others in the company don't know that. It was something that occurred many years ago.
My husband would be confident and capable to raise any potential issues, should they arise. My daughter cannot as she can't string a sentence together yet. I think it is poor decision-making to live with a sex offender when you work in a nursery. What other decisions would be poorly made?
But if you feel like that, don't let your daughter buy an icecream in a corner post office. Being a parent is about managing risks. I manage risks how I see fit, according to the life experiences that I have had. Irrational or not, I would see it as a risk that could be reduced. Sadly in the experiences that I have had, people will not always take responsibility and make appropriate decisions, won't always press charges.
At some stage my daughter will be old enough to start to venture to the corner shop alone. We will make that decision and take that risk at that point.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. If a nursery know that an employee is living in the same house as a sex offender and you could not trust them to manage the risk [even if they choose to do it without sacking the employee] then I don't think you should be entrusting your child to their care.Being a parent is about managing risks. What a load of tripe anyway! Just because a person's relative/associate has a criminal record does not say that that person is a criminal or undesirable if her record is clean why should she be judged by the actions of others whom she has no control over??Never judge a book by its cover :beer:0

I hear what your saying,how an employer will look at it is like this. Working with children in the U.K is subject to specific checks and clearances and if you pass these and then in your spare time knock about with a sex offender it just shows poor judgement on the womans part.
Its just not very good really, when she has clear choices about where she can live.0 -

It is to me irrelevant who she associates with in her spare time as long as she is clear herself and this is from someone who was sexually abused as a child. Poor judgement on her part maybe it is her at any risk no one else.Never judge a book by its cover :beer:0
