Enhanced CRB - checking family members/those living with you?

Hi,
A friend of mine has contacted me about her CRB check and I don't really know the answer so thought I'd ask on here to see if any knowledgeable person could help.
She works with children and has been CRB checked (enhanced) and has been for several years.
A change in circumstances means she will have to move from where she currently lives and go live with family for a while. The only issue is that one of her family she will be living with has a conviction and is on the sex offenders register.
Her work have called her in for a meeting about it and she needs to know where she stands. Will her enhanced CRB be affected by her family members conviction? Can her job release her from employment she has been in for a number of years due to this issue? Will a future CRB check show convictions of who she's living with?
Help!! She's already stressed enough as it is that her relationship has fallen apart but hasn't got anywhere else to live for the next little while until she can save some money except with her family

Enhanced CRB checks only show details related to the individual who is being checked and won't show convictions for people they associate with (unless there's intelligence suggesting that she is involved in the offences committed by this person which could potentially show up in the additional information).Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

Thanks a lot everyone
Does anyone know if work could sack her because of this issue of living with a convicted offender? Because she's not suitable? Her work know she's moving back with family and aren't happy0 -
What setting does she work in?
A standard nursery, for example, where she doesn't ever see the children outside of the premises, I don't think they could sack her.
If she's a childminder on the other hand, I believe a CRB is required for people you live with.
Is there nowhere else she can stay? It won't do her career any good if this gets out, and although it's unfair, it seems to already be worrying her current work.0 -
It's a nursery I think - not childminding
That's what I've suggested.... Shame I live over an hour from her or she could come stay with me for a bit0 -
I would suggest that a relevant question would be, how did her employer find out this information? It won't have come on a CRB, so how do they know? How they obtained the information may have relevance to why they want to speak to her, and what about.
I doubt they could dismiss her simply for a poor choice of relatives or accommodation, but I can definitely see serious concerns arising from her contact with this person. Just walking down a street with him when she accidentally meets someone enrolled in the nursery … after all, she can hardly tell her charges that under no circumstances are they to trust or go with this person even though they have seen her with him!0 -

Whilst I'm sure she would like to know I don't see how that would help.
Given that they have this information it is hard to see them wanting to continue to employ her. Can you imagine what the Daily Mail would make of it if it got out.
Assuming she has worked there long enough to have protection against unfair dismissal we come on to the question of would such a dismissal be fair in law? I really don't know. Maybe somebody who works in this field will know if there are any precedents.
Horrible situation.0 -

Horrible situation.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I couldn't agree more.
However, in the current climate do you really see a nursery taking the risk? Getting rid of the staff member (even at a modest cost) would be the cheap option.0 -

It may make a huge difference. I didn't say it would, but it may. If it came from the police it may be a concern that if satisfied will mean one thing. If it came from the parent of a child, then that could destroy the nursery. So how they found out is quite possibly relevant.0
