When using the washing machine I am getting a bad smell coming from my plug hole in the kitchen sink. The smell is a bit like a rotten egg.
Can any one recommend a way or product(s) to remedy this please ?

I've found soda crystals helped me. Put them in your machine on the hottest level.0

A decent U bend? Or just put the plug in when the machine is on?0

Try cleaning out the trap.
But put a bucket underneath before you undo it.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

The problem is not the washing machine the problem is gunk and grunge in your waste pipework. Needs a damned good clean out.

We had the same problem, it was the dishwater flowing back down the washer waste pipe and sitting there and smelling.....i put a bend in the washer waste pipe (tied the pipe up under the sink/work top) and no more smells from the washing machine0

Dont bother buying 'unblockers' mentioned in other posts, why bother as its only hard work and bleach (or the like) that will cure the smell.Lose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!0 -
A bit (lot) of elbow grease, white vinegar and then bleach!

hard work & elbow grease :rotfl:
what do you suggest ? crawling inside the waste pipe & giving it a good clean outI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Perhaps you could enlighten us as to what 'miracle' in a bottle to buy?
The clue to the problem is the ' gunk and grunge' mentioned earlier.
No amount of expensive rubbish you can buy that claims to clear blocked pipes will work.
Disconnect the waste pipes at all joints/elbows/traps and clean through/scrape out of all 'carp' inside, job done.
I await your ill informed advice.Lose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!0
