Its pretty much an internal scoring system based on account conduct. Its updated on a monthly basis and takes into account how much you fund the account, how often you use your overdraft facility, what loans, credit cards and savings you may have and applies a score.0 -

Agree my current debt is just over £300 at the moment which is on my BC.Also have a reasonable OD with Barclays which has never been touched either so would think as you say the monthly feed from the CRA's would of been sent to lloyds.
They really are a strange lot lloyds are because when opening the account I asked the manager regarding increasing my OD which she said try again in November which is 6 months of account conduct which is obviously wrong.
It makes you wonder if branch managers actually know the score or get any say because it seems it's all down to what the computer says.0 -

Ach no, managers have very little say these days. They can put a case to the underwriters but its not their call at the end of day.
Im not even sure that the majority of bank managers are the most well informed members of staff these days. The ones on the floor seem to have a better working knowledge0 -

6 months account conduct is what's recommend to get the best offers and chance of a accept, but sometimes three can be enough. Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0

With Lloyds, their internal scoring system would effectively do away with the old, 'wait 6 months and try again' rule. They could diary note your request and check it monthly.0 -
They do internal checks and also monitor account activity, in particular payments to credit cards etc to determine the level of credit/debt you might have elsewhere.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Yes branch staff can see what you are preapproved up to without additional external credit scoring.
You could quietly ask the question and you're likely to receive an up front response.0 -

Not sure what my maximum credit limit on my OD is but got a phonecall after increasing my OD To 3k from the branch manager the Tuesday where she told me about how good my account conduct is with lloyds and They are now in a position to basically loan me anything including asking if I would like a car loan etc.
She was very nice and I've never in 18 years of banking with barclays recieved a call from the branch manager offering me loans etc.0
