Also, it's a public forum, you can't tell people when to post or not post.
Wel, it goes for £125 scrap on cartakeback, which is close enough to the £150 advertised price for me, so, what sort of mug would pay to have it taken away, and believes it's not worth anything scrap?
Probably isn't good advice considering.0 -

They'll be expecting the battery though, if it's missing, put it on as a note, and tell them it doesn't start.
This and don't worry about it thereafter.
Lord knows what you'll get for a used battery but it might not be much. Could be better off leaving it on depending how much they knock off.
That's assuming you don't already have another Corsa outside your house that needs a battery.

Will remember that site, around here we have a bit of a 'have to pay to have them taken away' situation too - and people do it, madly enough.
I just get an MOT on the car, do any work myself and sell it - thankfully there's also a shortage of cheap bangers.0 -

do they operate like WBAC.com etc - ie the quote from their website magically reduces several fold when they get to see the vehicle itself?
I know scrap prices are high at the moment but cartakeback valued my father's 1988 astra at more than it was worth as a runner according to the local small ads I priced it against0 -

I've used them twice.
First was a "runner", but rusted backend, not repairable without a lot of work. They quoted and paid what they said with no problem.
Second was a real heap, bits missing, totally rotted away after standing for years. I declared it all, got an offer, but it was a no show. I rang cartakeback, they organised a different company (weren't happy with the other company picking and choosing) who picked it up, paid the same cash as they had quoted, (same as the first company that was a no show), very amicable, all they said was some you win, some you lose.
Got the destruction certs for both by email the same day, and they went off the dvla database at the same time.
So, declare it honestly, and they seem reputable, subject to the local contractor, and they appear to sort them out decently as well.0 -

It sounds completely banjoed, I wouldn't give you that money for it, I'm afraid.0 -

5t.
Leave it in the car, its not worth removing , unless its almost brand new and you have another car to put it in.. Once itr been stood unused for 6 months it will have sulphated and be knackered anyway.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. I used these people a couple of weeks ago:
http://www.ukcarscrap.com/
They rang me for an appointment to collect, arrived on time and paid exactly what the website quoted, no hassle, and 2 days later I got the certificate of destruction in the post. I was impressed, and no I'm not their stooge.0 -
why not ask a local college (that does paint spraying and such) if they would be interested in buying it for scrap value. colleage not far away from me has a tow truck so collects donated/scrap value cars for their students to work and and learn.0
