Hi Guys I have a Advent laptop running Windows XP. Last week I had a serious virus - Live Security Platinum which took over my whole computer and would not let me do anything. I followed a website's recommendation of how to get rid of it (can't remember what it was now) and I basically went in to my laptop in safe mode…

Yes, you can delete them.

Uninstall these:

Java(TM) 6 Update 17
Java(TM) 6 Update 2

Download latest Java from here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
