Mine hasn't been on since March. With any luck I won't need it until October. Am in the south east though and it's still over 20 degrees daytime temp here.

Not much, about 4-5 times. Mostly to dry clothes though. We usually have it on more, even during the summer, but we got the loft insulated last September and have seen a huge difference.
  • It actually matters not if we as a nation are using less fuel. It's clear that the energy companies plan to maintain/increase their profits no matter how 'little' we use.

No, Last used the end of April. Normally I'd stop using it in March.

I last used my heating at the beginning of June  I had to in order to get some washing dry. We are sorting out the insulation so hopefully we can hang out a bit longer before we put it on again.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

If it's cold, it's on. If it's warm, it's not.

The thermostat only detects the room temperature, it cares not what month it is.

Not had mine on since March and hopefully it wont be on till December. I am in Yorkshire too. I am very tight with mine as cannot handle the big bills. Total cost of my gas and electric last year was £800 so I am well below what most people use. My hubby and son not impressed though.
