At what price?
Unless it's cheap, try to go for a dual core processor or at least upgraded graphics, alongside a six cell battery.
It just looks a unremarkable machine.0 -

Just over £200 and it does have a six cell battery. Torn between this and the HP Mini but the HP doesn't have HDMI output which would be highly desirable.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Thank you all for the suggestions. I won't be getting this until next month so it's a shame about the expiry on the Asus.
Some of the alternatives seem a little overkill. 4GB of RAM seems a bit of a unnecessary as I won't be cluttering it or installing games or other pointless software. The HDD doesn't need to be very big either, as it will only hold text files from my lecture and book notes.0 -

Expiry on the ASUS??
Did you mean the HP?
There will be new options in a month, so revive the thread then.0 -

Yes I did :P
Well, if there's a netbook that is a good enough bargain with an expiry date then I'll but it now and then just replenish my account with my student loan.0 -

There was...but you didn't check your thread quickly enough.
Was an especially good bargain, more so for the ease of upgrading the RAM.
Keep an eye on the website.0 -

Not until I decide whether I want to buy it otherwise someone else will beat me to it“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

There is such a thing as Private Messages. It really doesn't sound like an amazing deal, just ok, so don't be overly concerned. It's only a few pounds below the usual price by the sound of it.
They are usually good all rounders though, so if you are happy with the price.
Though do be aware that if you buy one privately, even though 'New', your warranty may not be for the full year.0 -

To this end I would recommend the HP MINI 210 BEATS NETBOOK - AQUA REFURB £149.99
This machine normally goes for £230 upwards(Not that it's worth that much).
Contrary to the description, the machine will arrive shiny and new.
Warranty exactly the same as a new machine too.
Good battery life(claimed up to ten hours, but you'll be happy with half of that) and a doddle to upgrade the RAM to 2GB. If it takes you more than 60 seconds, you are probably missing some fingers.
£9 for a 2GB module
1.38kg, so more than a kilogram less than a laptop.
The only caveat is that it has a glossy screen instead of a matte screen. Matte screens are better for outdoors, as they are less reflective.
Either way, you have a seven working day evaluation period, wherein you can claim a 'no quibble' refund.
I think it is a relative bargain for a Netbook with a six cell battery.
For those who faffed around the first time, ARGOS have suitably punished you by hiking the price a further £34.0
