Big headache with my clothing shop today....
very carefully did my sums first, spent exactly 35/25......and shock, horror  when i came to pay my £10 blue, £10 yellow and £7 yellow were all rejected.
Thought about it fior a while & decided to be brave & go to CS.....got 2 steps away from the desk & worked out why. Reading my receipt, the SA hadn't actually scanned a £12 pair of trousers but had packed them for me to take... (so effectively free) so the min spend hadn't been met.
Thought better of challenging it (even though i hadn't been able to use all my coupons ) since this is a scan-happy store.......didn't want to draw attention to myself. I just took the shoes i'd bought back to another store round the corner, so got £20 back.(therefore, the coupons i was able to use meant the clothes i did get only cost me £11)
Inconvienient more than anything, but the shoes are a new line so i can get those another time......
I would go again tomorrow to use up the yellow coupons but i don't need any more *fluff* stuff and the store is a 35 mile round trip for me, so not exactly local.
Do you all think i did the right thing?
Yes I think you did it right, you dont say what coupons were accepted....but as your total only came to £48 then both the £10 would be rejected(by the till) it looks as though the till accepted a £5 kids and 2 different £6 ones......so returning your shoes brought you down to £11 for £28 worth.
Just wonder if this also means that the £7 yellow mans/womens definately doesnt work on kids clothes.........as was asked yesterday..........(by FloFlo I believe)
I dont buy kids clothes so dont know the coupon usage on them.Couponing....."every little hurts"

I nearly got the cash for it the other day at CS, I braved it in spite of other mega-coupon use on the receipt. I kept hold of the receipt and pointed out the kids clothes in my bags instead, telling her that neither my blue £4 nor my £5 yellow had scanned (the yellow one would have scanned but the till op had already taken an adults clothes yellow one, so wouldn't take another the same colour even tho it was kidswear).
Anyhoo, the CS lady agreed to give me the cash for one of my vouchers, but of course that would be the £5 yellow one due to the higher amount and shorter expiry. My blue £4 still sits forlornly in my purse but I will use it in the end!
I buy age 8-16 & the blue kids one has only once been rejected. I hand it in 1st then I hand in the £10 coupons. Must admit thats the only time ive had a kids one rejected.
C-M I dont know how you do it, I darent take my reciept to the CS . You are an absolute star, wish I had 1/2 your nerve0 -
lucky u, SA gave u free gifts, my SA scanned the same item twice and i have no choice but went to CS, luckily that SA did not bother and just gave me cash back.0

I forgot a bit:
The H & B coupons reduced my total bill by a further £6 odd (over & above my £10 worth of H &, so it wasn't a TOTAL loss today....
Plus, the Banrock Station Chardonnay is only £3.39 a bottle.........

I would, except
a: i can't fit it around swimming for the youngest, bowling for the eldest and the middle one is autistic (and you never ever try shopping with him)
and b: they havn't got what i want in the sizes i need now, so i would struggle to find another £60 worth of stuffAutism Mum Survival Kit: Duct tape, Polyfilla, WD40, Batteries (lots of),various chargers, vats of coffee, bacon & wine.0
