Hi hope one of the lovely peeps on here can help
MIL has bought a refurbed dell latitude d610 laptop with windows 7 installed. In the taskbar there is a a message saying no audio output device installed, searched the net but all seems to be old and links to drivers to fix the problem no longer work.
Think it was originally an XP machine-but this was a refurb by a professional company so dont have any details on compatability-this is a straight out of its box question for us.
Any ideas please guys?
Thanks in advance

TBH closed I dont know-shhe only bought it last week and was from a professional company-think it was originally an XP machine if that helps?
Legit win7(it is a legit company)
There is a problem with the drivers, little yellow signs in device manager, tried running troubleshooter, to no avail0 -
not that professional if it came like that, missing drivers is a sign of a cowboy.
how much did she pay for it?

The 610 uses a Sigmatel 9751 for audio. No Windows 7 drivers were produced but people are succesfully using the Vista drivers - ftp://ftp.dell.com/audio/R99254.EXEThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It was a site recommended by the Open University  thanks for the links will let you know how i get on
Stupid question-driver link-do i click on run or do i unpack and search for it manually?0 -
Also try going on your computer to C:/Dell/Drivers/R99254/setup
If the file is there, click on it to install driver.
If Vista driver suggested above doesn't work try http://www.opendrivers.com/download/driver-34252.html604!0 -
