I've been getting calls from this number and finally answered this evening. It seems it is a company called Claims Professionals trying to flog PPI claiming services.
I am troubled because they asked to speak to my ex-husband. Firstly this is my mobile number, always has been and has never been anything to do with my ex-husband. Secondly, we have not been together since 2003 - so why on earth, nearly ten years later, are they ringing my personal mobile asking for him?
Does anyone know anything about this company and how I can get to the bottom of why they are trying to get my ex-husband on this number?
I've had a root around and have seen one report that the data they are using is provided by a company called Transactis - though I don't know if this information is accurate.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks
kirsteen

Thanks for that - it confirms that it is a company called Claims Professionals making nuisance calls about claiming PPI.
What really bothers me is that they asked for my ex-husband by name on my mobile number which has never been associated with him - even before we parted nearly a decade ago!0 -

Information is sold and re-sold, the more up to date it is the more it costs. Ten years ago your ex wasn't your ex and somewhere that info is still floating about. I imagine that all they're doing is using old info perhaps mixed with some more up to date info.
You can buy unverified old info for a few pounds, the downside is companies waste a lot of time and money calling wrong numbers or the wrong people at old numbers. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

Thanks for that - another number on the "barred" list in my phone0 -
Same thing just happened to me. Really rude person, called me. How do you bar numbers from your phone?0

If someone calls me from that number they will just get "number unobtainable".0 -
You can bet your bottom dollar that they'll have now sold your number on again now.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

I have had heaps of missed calls on my mobile from number as well. Must have look and see how I block numbers. Also from some 01792 numbers. They all started round about the same time. I just keep ignoring them.0

Maybe ring and do the same to them - hang up
!
"Claims Advisory Group" (claimsadvisorygroup . co . uk )
0800 027 9744 (free from landline)
May be cheaper to ring 0161 820 2712 from a mobile.
Presumably it costs them each time someone rings their 0800 no.0 -
I'm just off the phone with this number, interrupted through every meal in the past few weeks and today decided to fight back. I asked if they did their research at all before contacting people and was met with "we're trying to get you a refund" to this i said "but i have never had a loan or credit card, I, in fact have never spent a penny that isn't mine, so why are they contacting me constantly.
To which his reply was to laugh at me and say "aww Miss Collie you have a wonderful accent, are you from Liverpool?!?!?" at which i slammed the phone down and have begun my campaign to let everyone know how rude, disrespectful and intrusive this company is. Anyone who can give me more information on who they are and how to contact their head office directly, would be much appreciated.
Thanks and BE WARNED!0
