Does anyone use a net book? I'm thinking of getting DD one for her 13th birthday in dec but I know she would only use it for homework/Internet and her music. I won't allow her on fb or social sites as I feel she's too young so I would like to monitor her too. I just don't know the difference between these and laptops!

The only difference is the size of the screens, they do all that a laptop does.

I know someone was selling a netbook that DD looked at before she got her laptop and it didn't have the part that you insert a disc into (sorry not technical!) Don't know if that is unusual but something you might want to check if you are buying one Wingo. O'h and good luck keeping your DD off social network sites!

Also to add that most netbooks don't have a CD drive, just incase she'd need one, but you can pick up an external CD drive for quite cheap nowadays.
