Hi All,

Been keeping an eye on the Currys website for the last few days - 16 and 32gb Playbooks in and out of stock at £129 and £149 respectively (incidentally, far better than elsewhere)

Checked this afternoon - and they have the 64GB model up for £129 - and in stock for home delivery!

Just ordered one for me - and went through ok.

Then decided to buy another!

Imagine they'll go quickly...

  • This may not be the place to ask this, but since you seem to be fond of the Playbook, can I have your view on it and what is your main use of it?

    Thank you :)

I have a Playbook, I love it. I use mine pretty much for the same things as i do my laptop - e-mail, Facebook, BBC I-Player etc. etc. It's just so much more portable than a laptop.

Wow, this is unreal! Thank you Jimboban, I have been looking for a Birthday Gift for my Dad and he is just going to LOVE this!!
  • From the CNET REVEIW:

    Blackberry Playbook Bad Points:

Must be connected to a BlackBerry phone for many key features to work
Video calling only works between PlayBooks
Fewer available apps than on competing platforms

We have a Playbook and absolutely love it. The price is amazing and it is great for the usual email, internet etc and has great resolution. It is never going to replace the laptop but as a cheap tablet it is amazing.
  • I was interested in getting one of these, until i was told i needed to sync it to a bb, which i don't have grrr. annoyed.

You don't need a blackberry phone to have full use of the tablet. Connecting the two together from what I understand is only really to control the tablet with the phone cursor, use BBM and have eMails pushed through.

Now showing as out for stock for home delivery - but that there are some available for in-store collection - might be worth a hunt to see if any near you!

There are a lot of people who dislike the Playbook but barring the lack of the full Android Market it isnt a bad piece of kit and the OS is a heck of a lot more stable than some of the Android OS's.At this price for a 64gb model I couldn't say no so I have ordered two for my children for Christmas.Just hoping that there isnt a glitch in the suppliers software and I actually get the items
