I'm in the process of sorting out my renewal - have got them to drop my line rental to £3.99. :T
They've also offered me a new phone, but it's the K510i. Does anyone know anything about it (is it any good? am I being fobbed off with last decade's leavings?) or if there are any alternatives in the same sort of category. I'm currently using a motorola L6 after years of nokia loyalty if that's any help:)
I know that having the line rental is a good deal and don't want to push my luck my demanding the nokia 5300 I really want...
I mainly use my phone for taking pictures of things that amuse me on the street, texting and calls and want to listen to music on the tube & radio if poss - any suggestions for a greedy guts?
:D:D:D:
thanks
Diva:)

O.k the K510i is not one of the newer phones but in my eyes is still a great phone, if you are only paying £3.99 line rental then you cant really ask for much more. The k510i camera is not the quality of the newer phones but that is expected, but the music quality is excellent, if you want to store loads of things on the memory then it isnt the best phone in the world but like you said its cheap line rental and you will be hard pushed to get a better deal than what you are paying unless you go down the cashback road.
Heres some reviews on the phone to have a look at

If you want a diva's phone it might not be for you !!!!0 -
thanks Jay:)
Read the reviews on line & apparently the 5300 is a bit fragile:( given my 7 things at once while running for a bus phone usage, may not be the best for me) do you think I could get the K600i instead -don't have nay particular reason, but I like the colour! (does that tell you anything about my not so logical thought processes when choosing a phone:rolleyes: !!!!!)
I've not been an ericsson girl and a bit dubious... it took ages to persuade me to take the L6 last year & I have to say that I love it:D."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -

I cant see why they cant give you a K600i, the camera is a lot better and maybe that can be a point you can make with them, if you tell them you have been reading reviews of certain phones and that you dont want to be rude and ask for the top of the range but the K600i would bve more suitable as you do use your phone for taking a lot of pictures and the camera quality is a lot better than the one they are offering then you could have a good chance of getting it.
As for the Sony Ericssons as a whole, I was just like you and a bit dubious about them as I had Nokia phones for years but when I got my first sony ericsson at first it was difficult to work out but after a few days I was so happy I changed. Nobody likes change but full marks to sony, they make the best phones out there !
Let me know how you get on

I used to be firmly in the Nokia camp.....all the way back to a 2110 on Orange, back in the day.
However, after a few disappointing handsets from Nokia, I got a Sony W810i and am now onto a K800i, which I adore.
Sony have raised the bar, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend an SE handset now. My mate Al has just had the 510 and he is a big fan of it, its not the best spec'd handset but at £3.99 LR??!! Bargain....0 -
i had a k510i and it was good, but not as good as the k608i i had (the k608i is basically the k600 with 3's firmware on it). the k600 has an fm radio, slightly more internal memory (k510i about 22mb and the k600 has about 33mb). the k600 also has a camera flash.
the k510 is 2g and the k600 is 3g (video calls etc)0
