Are your knitting patterns scanned copies of someone else's patterns? in which case you are in breach of copyright and shouldn't be selling them.0

            Hi,
I am so grateful to everyone for their help:j
The reason why they are in jpegs is because they are vintage ones which are scanned onto my computer. The quality is fine. The pain in the !!!! bit is printing them all out because Ebay insist that I do. I am trying to move towards downloadable files and PDFs seemed the best format. Hence I need to convert them from jpegs. I currently have couple of hundred files in jpeg format, and they are selling well, its just a time consuming way of doing it:eek:0 -
No, it is quite common to scan vintage ones, I am not in breach of copyright, dont worry, I have a Degree in Law.0

I agree with that approach up to there - and it would then be even easier and quicker [Chickenbrain2009] using a LibreOffice [formerly OpenOffice] Text file instead of Word [which I don't have!] as you can simply export the LibreOffice text as a PDF file after inserting as many JPG images as you need. Slightly surprised you can't do the same with Word.Fellwalker wrote: »In Word, click on Insert / picture and browse to your first jpg, select it and click open. You are now back in word with your picture there. Re-size it if necessary.
Save the word document with an appropriate name.
Press the enter key a couple of time to move down the page.
Repeat until all pictures added and any typing added.
Save the word document.....
[However, I also agree that a PDF writer is one of the most useful software tools of all!]".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -
All of these replies appear to be overkill? Converting jpeg to word then word to pdf? It makese no sense and is not needed. Why 'print as pdf' when the OP has already come up with a solution of zipping up numerous jpeg files. The fact is right or wrong, the OP has jpeg images already so they may aswell work with what they have. Zipping them up in bulk takes seconds. Even if they were to print a load of images as pdf, it would be recommended to zip them up anyway before uploading somewhere so it is just one step extra.
It sounds like the OP ideally wants to zip several image files up so a customer can download therefore just get winrar, its free and is just the same as winzip http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm Once installed highlight the several image files you want to 'zip up', right click choose 'add to archive' then you are left with one rar file (zip file, just the same) which you upload to your site (or wherever and they download)0 -
Best program I have used is Primopdf
Select print on document.
Change printer to Primopdf and save as a file.0 -
The easiest program to use here is probably Irfanview.
Download Irfanview from here, and run Setup/Install
The download All Plugins from here
Start Irfanview, select Options > Multipage Images > Create Multipage PDF.
Tell Irfancview which images you want to use, in which order, and it will make the PDF for you automatically, Much easier than having to print individual images to a PDF printer or load them all into Word etc.
You can also adjust image size/compression etc for best results.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
