Thread deletion

Options
MSE can you tell us why so many threads are getting deleted over on the parking forum ?

Is it that we are getting the backs up of private parking operators and they are pressurising you to get rid of us ?

Until answers are provided from MSE then rumours are going to be rife thus causing more threads to be speculative as to what is happening.

Is it that the new owners dont want to tread on toes ? This sort of thing hardly ever happend on there when :money:owned the site.

Look forward to your reply MSE.

Yes deleting multiple threads and posts stifles help on a consumer forum, if you want to set out the rules fair enough do it, but deleting people who are simply asking "what to do now?" is a disgrace! I take time to post on threads there, it sometimes takes 5-10 minutes to make a post as people are asking complicated questions, only to be undone by a click of a mouse!

If you don't want us to give advice, simply say so and I and probably others will go elsewhere, I have had enough of trying to jump through hoops that can't be seen, and then whole threads disappearing with maybe 100s of replies on them.

So decide MSE moderators and staff what do you want of this forum ?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    Hi muckybutt,

I appreciate there is a frustration on that board; but a lot of the threads removed, the accusations made, and some of the comments toward MSE and its staff has required me to consult our lawyers and substantial legal and staff cost to us.

However, I accept you need a statement, which I will draft and attempt to post this afternoon on that board. What I will say though is we've spent a huge amount of time fighting this behind the scenes, and some of the comments and accusations made toward us from users have been quite hurtful and, frankly, have made us question whether we could support the board. The implication that we have changed policy based on "new owners" (which is actually currently inaccurate) is offensive and categorically untrue.

I hope the statement will help at least clarify our position and my hope is that you can understand that we are subject to the law.

    Thank you FM.

One understands the need to heed the law and to be discreet but there is a world of difference between discreetly acting lawfully and being silent. An earlier explanation may have allayed concerns well before some tempers became frayed and the comments engendered quite so inflammatory. Of course, we all have perfect hindsight but there were numerous and quite reasonable requests for some form of official comment.

Whilst I have not and nor do I now condone malicious or gratuitous comments against MSE staff/mods the complete official silence thusfar has not served the forum well, IMO, and from this perspective the forum team should accept that, in some measure, they have contributed to what has been at times a quite noisome atmosphere.

It is my sincere hope that your statement will act as a clearing of the air and that we can all move on - and that is directed as much at my fellow posters as it is to you.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

I just hope if it was a matter of getting a letter or two from Shillings then MSE has had them before re the postings on this parking board, over several years. MSE never used to run scared despite Shillings letters (I think Parking Eye tried). Surely nothing has changed and we were still allowed to call a scam a scam...:)
