That's a good point, I didn't set a direct debit up while applying.0

The final checks are anti-fraud checks, so you should be OKI spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Just done one of these to compare against the one I did in December 2011. They offered me £500 limit with 19.9% then, now it's still £500 but the APR is down to 15.9%.
Don't think I will bother going to full application as I expect it would probably still be a decline but at least all the things I am doing to build my credit rating seem to be paying off with the APR dropping on the quote.
I'll wait until December and see where it comes in at then. It's a long road back to credit worthiness but it does feel good to know things are improving!0 -

Thanks for that, still not counting my chickens mind you
Like I said, I'm not used to all this online application stuff - would it have declined me online there and then if it was a no or still make me go through all the rest of the application?0 -

Well you should start counting your chickens as your nationwide CC will be dropping through your letterbox soon.0 -
This wasn't what it said for me however, for info and for anyone else wondering what happens when you click apply after getting a 19.9% APR and £500 limit, you get this nice box:-Thank you for applying for a Nationwide Credit Card. We are sorry but, after carefully considering your application, we are unable to offer you a credit facility. We have received information from our credit reference agency, Experian, which has adversely affected your application. Under the terms of our agreement with Experian, we are unable to disclose this information directly to you. We ask you to accept that we rely on the accuracy of the information supplied to us and that, unless there is some significant error in their data, our decision is final.
You might be lucky, but for people wondering what it said after you click apply.0 -
Sorry for dredging up an old thread, but I got the above quote after they offered 15.9% and a 3200 limit.
I wish that they'd not do that, that they'd say there and then "Computer says No", rather than mucking about like that.0 -
