I've only ever used DFDS as I always book a day or so before and they have always been cheaper than P&O, but if myFerryLink are cheaper next time then I'll given 'em a go.0 -
The nice big sofas are all very well, but are far too often taken up by selfish people stretching out asleep on them, taking up 3 or 4 spaces. Really annoys me.0

their 2 new ferries going from dover are very spacious especially the HUGE sofas in the bar area
here is a link with all the ferry companies

a 'moody' search gives a day trip on monday
P&O £19 return
DFDS £19 return
myferrylink £35 return
you pays your money and takes your choice
It was the Dover - Calais route about four weeks ago. We travelled out at 7 AM, and the return ship two weeks later was at around 7.15PM. The boats were both pretty scruffy, but were not the latest ones (which we passed on the way).
The pricing was competitive, because we paid £79 for our return.
I was hoping to see some nice cheap day trips advertised for between £25 and £35.0 -

Depends on the number of seats.
I'm not standing up for the entire trip.0 -
I'm perfectly happy to sit with strangers rather than the floor, if that's all there is. If the boat is quiet, and there is plenty of room, fine, sleep on, but not when its busy. Same happens in airports also, of course.0

I went on this service a couple of days after it started and it was almost empty, but ships were very clean. Website now seems up and running, but I booked by phone. £ 19 each way for daytrip. Restaurant choice was limited and shop still being stocked. Eurotunnel bought all the SeaFrance assets so not surprising if they're using the old website and systems. Good luck to them as DFDS haven't provided a Calais service anywhere near what SeaFrance did, and P&O need some competition..0
