I was attracted to it as I have some money coming but needed a short term fix because I have lived out of the country for a while and as such have no credit record.
I asked my friend if I could use her card to pay an administration fee IF I was offered a loan. She agreed.I was led to believe by Welcome Loans that I had a loan and used her card to pay the fee.
They took the money from her account and there was a totally unsuitable loan arranged. It needed a guarantor which I didn't have. I contacted the police who have said that my friend may have a case.
I had pre-warned Welcome Loans that they did not have her permission to take the money and they still took it.

I cannot see such a post below. Where?
these companies exist (and continue to exisit) purely on charging and then witholding that fee.
Don't most businesses work the same way?

I really don't have much time for people who sign up for stuff, give their card details, THEN decide to read about what they're actually paying for. It's quite clear what WelcomeLoans offer on their website. Whats not to understand ? If you receive lots of offers from different companies within minutes of signing up, isn't that what you're paying them for ?

They don't deal with mainstream lenders, they deal with subprime lenders, why are people surprised when they receive offers of loans at extortionate interest rates or ones which require some mug to agree to pay the loan for them ?

They must have some happy customers or they would have folded by now. Won't be long though i would imagine.

I applied for a loan with Welcome Loans back in June and decided that I didn't want to use them after all.

Their T&C's stated that I had to write to them to obtain the £69.95 broker fee back from them. They debited this from my account and sent a very aggressive/threatening letter stating that they would take me to court/fine me blah blah if I contested the payment.

I wrote to these clowns within the 14 days cool off period and heard nothing. I sent numerous emails and was eventually told I had to write to their "Legal Compliance Auditor" (whatever!) to obtain my refund.
    I have still heard NOTHING.

The FOS have written to them on my behalf and still there has been no reply.

I just want to warn anyone who reads this to steer well clear of these loosers. I will continue to persue them for my money but I suspect many people just get fed up of being ignored and cut their losses so the company wins every time!
