Good news!

Power NI to cut electricity prices by 14% in October 2012. This comes on the same day that SSE across in GB announce an increase in October 2012.
Expect Airtricity and Budget Energy prices to fall accordingly then?

So Power NI have just announce a 14% price cut and at the same time Scottish & Southern Energy have announced an increase of 9% on electricity from 15 October. Hmmmm.0 -
Very strange indeed. SSE blame rising costs of gas and PowerNI say cost of gas is falling? So who is right?0

Budget Energy hasn't got anything on their website about their prices either increasing or decreasing.0

I am an airtricity customer in NI. Heard on the radio coming into work that powerni has gone with a 14% reduction. How does that effect me? Do airtricity then come back with a response to this? Cheers P0

Power NI just coming into line with Air and Budget, can't see either of these doing a 14% reduction TBH but they will have to do somewhat of a reduction to keep attracting new customers.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0

From the BBC News website:Budget Energy said it would announce its own price cut in the next three weeks which will come into force in October.
"Any savings we make on the wholesale market, we will be transferring onto our customers," she said.0 -
As both Airtricity and Budget Energy advertise their rates as a discount to the Power NI standard rate will they not have to reduce their prices by an amount at least equal to the forthcoming Power NI reduction?0

This is what I am trying to work out. The reason I jumped powerni's ship was the near 35% increase on my monthly bill by the end of last year, so it made since to go to Air. The sales rep who signed me up sold the Yr 1 14% save YR 2 8%. So should I be getting more off my bill?0
