The right to die?

Are you saying don't let any doctors do it or don't let all doctors do it? Who would staff the specialist centre if not doctors?
I dont know i just would not like to see my gp/hospital consultant and know he ended my dads life. Does that make sense.
Perhaps doctors that never see any other patients only ones that want to end there life.0 -
We give animals the right not to suffer, if after consultations with patient, independent Dr's, psychiatrists etc why should a patient not have the right to end their life in a dignified manner?.
Now how we find out if a patient has been made to feel pressure to go from relatives/spouses etc, is a different question & something that needs to be addressed.
My condolences go out to the Nicklinson family, i saw his reaction when his case was refused in parliament, it really made me cry.No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -

Yes, it does interfere with the hippocratic oath in some fundamental way.0 -

I can't imagine we'd try to 'reinvent the wheel' or permit assisted suicide to be widely practised if we ever did change the legislation. Most likely we'd learn from organisations like Dignitas. I highly doubt many UK doctors would want to take that responsibility either.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I have witnessed with my own senses, the way that certain people are written off by the NHS. Older people left to rot in their own urine and faeces, constantly ignored by members of staff either too busy or too posh to wash. Once you are stripped of your diginity,it isnt much of a step to strip you of your life..usually by hooking you up to an auto drive syringe to slowly euthanise you without your consent. Of course its different if its someone who really matters. They get helicoptered to a nice hospital for the best of treatment for a simple complaint which would leave any member of the public rotting in an A&E waiting department most of the night sucking on a paracetomol..the cuyre for all ills. How do you know there are problems with this occurring? Which specific life saving treatments are being rationed for cost reasons alone and how many deaths result each year? Have you actually researched the NICE or Trust systems for yourself, have you ever worked within the NHS and seen this occurring first hand?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
I have no issues with the right to die if each case is administered correctly. Sometimes live can be hell and if it is an enduring hell where there is no hope, then the time to die is the last bit of control and possible relief that you have left.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry).
