Fraudulent phone call??
Comments

When i answered the phone call to the bloke the second time i stated i wondered how he came across the information and he said he was passed it on a piece of paper as he got more verbally agressive he was getting flustered and despite earlier in the convo telling me he couldnt tell me the customers details went on to say xxx xxxx knows he owes the money so i said that it was impossible as we didnt bank with barclays and he hung up.If they call again it might be easier just tell it to them straight that you know they are scammers and please go away. They won't bother wasting their time if they know the game is up.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Don't encourage them by engaging in conversation of any kind.
If they ring again, hang up without saying a word. In fact, if you aren't expecting any other callers who don't disclose their number, don't answer it at all.0 -

Oh - in that case you need one of these0 -
If they call again, answer the call and then interrupt them by saying "Sorry, there's somebody at the door", put the phone to one side i.e. don't end the call and walk away, leaving them on the phone. After about 15 minutes, go back to the phone and just terminate the call without saying anything.
This way, they've wasted 15 minutes of their time and paid for the priviledge
.
Used to work with me with Sky, they stoppped calling

Thinking of spending???..YNAB says "NO!!!!"0 -
Having been in to the bank today to change all security answers they more or less confirmed it was nothing to do with them.
The mobile num my husband has was assigned to him in february this year and he has only given it out to immediate friends and family, the bank was given the mobile number as a back up but have landline as primary contact. No one else has the number.
Having calmly thought about things now most definitly believe it to be a scam. Companies normally address the customer as Mr/Mrs then surname not be formal and shorten the christian name then use surname.
Gratefully received no calls since the 3rd one last night so hoping it will now go away otherwise the next step would be change of number
Thanks for all the help and advice given.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
