Well my month ended 26th. Managed to say at £350 so in budget but not coming down.

Still, have already done a big shop for this month (May) but will wait until new thread.

Still cannot believe how much I end up spending in the veg shop. I go in for veg for that nights tea and maybe some banana and eggs and another £5 has gone. Must be costing me at least £20 a week in fruit & veg, which I know is good in that we all eat it but it just seems to cost so much!

I know what you mean about fruit and veg! Almost half of my shopping bill every week is fresh stuff - pie and chips is cheaper!! But we'd all end up with scurvy.
  • This was my first grocery challenge and was very pleased to be well under budget!! Looking forward to next months challenge.

Well today is the last day of the month for me and I spent a total of £54.37 so well under my budget of £65 for the month. I could have got it under the £50 but I didn't want to deprive myself of my chocolate and crisps which form an essential part of my diet!:p

My OH did take me out for 2 meals and we had a takeaway that he paid for so I feel a bit of a fraud with my grand total. I have still got loads of tins of food in, ie. sweetcorn, chopped tomatoes etc and I always have loads of rice, pasta and bulgar wheat in.
If only I could run down what I have in then I could have a mega cheap month one month but I always fancy having something I haven't got in.

    Arrgghh

Not very successful this month...in fact worst ever.

Total Spent £426.40 - £126.40 over budget. We also ate out quite a bit as we were having new kitchen done.

Will try to get back on track for May

Spent just over £25 with Tesco for bulk shop for the month which isn't bad. Part of that was a whole £1.13 on 12 x value loo rolls - got to be worth a try!

The rest of groceries will be topped up weekly with meat, fish, veg and fruit, sandwhich bread/meats etc.
