Okay so i've spent another £15.66 over the last two weeks. Managing to get 20 bananas for £1 too at the local grocers lol. Although I am switcing to only local and/or organic so that's been eating away at some money too (stocking up on pasta, tinned goods and the like that I'm not eating yet). So I have £7.71 left. Should be more than enough as I have about a weeks worth of fruit and veg at the moment.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • Week 3 been better still. Spent £76.75 this week, slowly bringing the prices down. This included a veg man delivery which i'm not overly impressed with, there wasn't even enough potatoes for one meal!:( so gonna have to buy more during the week. Also some of the veg wasn't of their best. Oh well, we live and learn.
Also tried the Lidl nappies.;) Not bad! Seem to be almost as good as Pampers. So savings there. I think we'll be sticking to them for now(the Lidl ones). It took me a while to persuade DH to try and now he's impressed with savings we seem to be making.
    Nothing to declare ;)
  • Just stopped smoking so loads more money to spend on shopping.

Previously would spend around £80 monthly online at Tesco (£40 food and £40 fags)

plus monthly budget of £280 =£10 per day usually spent as £5 fags and £5 on food stuff daily

What should i be aiming to spend for me and a 16 year old boy per month, including shampoo etc and cleaning stuff?

    thank you

  • Im doing well on my grocery budget but I only count food in that one. Overspent loads on everything else but I needed new shoes for a new job-a second job! So really its an investment I guess. Had to pay for months travel pass for ds also so that topped it up. Bought myself a pressie-oops! Big external drive to save all my pics and music on. I don't normally do mad things like that though. Not taken the vouchers off of my spending but Ive used £25 worth so far this month.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
  • Hooray - tomorrow is payday and the month's grocery shopping is complete. The grand total is (drumroll)... £80.01! My budget for the month was £90. So I treated DH to fish and chips (£5.45) to say thanks for his help and being good in Sainsbury's and sticking to my list on his way home!

We've eaten really well, actually, and we still have plenty of sausages, fish fingers, tins of tuna and pasta left. I'm going to budget for £80 in May, but will be secretly aiming for £75... that would be brilliant.

    Yippee! :j

Well done Mrs Wossinge :T - I am intrigued though as to how you manage to feed 2 people on such a small budget. I really struggled to feed just myself on £90 - in fact I have exceeded my budget by about £20 (haven't updated my sig yet) and nothing I bought could be classified as luxury/superfluous items apart from a small bottle of maple syrup - and I don't buy meat, fish, alcohol or coffee  . Did you use cupboard/freezer stuff? Did the budget include cleaning products? What am I doing wrong? :embarasse

Just coming to the end of my month now (maybe another £10 to spend). I was a bit disappointed at not getting closer to the £150 end of my budget but am trying to look on the bright side. Freezer is stocked, we don't need any household stuff this month and have a fair bit of stock in. So I am going all out to be under £150 next month which I think I can manage.

Also on the bright side, and I need a drum roll here, our spending since I properly started here (start Feb) has been £567.82. For the same three months last year we spent £884.39:eek::o So on last year, we have a saving of £317 for the quarter :j

    here's to next month:beer:
