Only a few words from me. April, I blew the budget.
I'm going to do it again in May with better planning and a different approach, I think having the entire month's cash in the shopping purse doesn't work for me.
Hey ho, nearly payday.One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

Hello
I fell at the last hurdle and I too went overbudget
I was doing so well too, I went shopping and spent £71.54 this week
This brings my total spend for the month to £205.84, £25.84 OVER.
Ah well nevermind, As my mum used to say try, try, try again until you succeed - so I'll be trying again May to stay on budget.
Well Done to those that succeeded :T
Good Luck in May everyone!!

Despite my best efforts, went over budget by £21.59 and was pretty annoyed with myself at first  . However when I sat down and thought about it, as my first grocery challenge, it's not actually a bad result, considering I used to spend about £300-£400 !!! Now I can see just what difference can be made by foregoing ready-made meals and takeaways. Roll on May, I have a good feeling about the next challenge
Well done to all those who completed the challenge successfully :T0 -

Wheat-free, Alcohol-free, Sugar-free, Caffeine-free, Chocolate-free, Diet Coke-free Vegan since 2 Feb 07
As a vegan myself, with a mixture of vegan/veggies in the family, I have to ask.....what do you eat? LOL! Is there such a thing as sugar-free, caffine-free, chocolate-free chocolate? Oh, you mean no chocolate? Also no alcohol?.....I couldn't cope

Well done:T0 -
Well done to everyone who stayed in budget, commiserations to those who didn't quite manage it
I came in at £190, had hoped for closer to £175 (target was £150-£200). Still not bad though. Watching out for the May thread now0 -
Hmmm.... I think I'm going to change my challenge this month.... I usually run my month from the 19th - 18th due to payday but I'm starting to think it'll be nicer for me to follow a calendar month and celebrate/comiserate with everyone else...
With that in mind and being half way through my usual month, I'm going to put the remainder of last months shop, plus May's target (£100) together and start as of today... I have a LARGE order from Tesco's due tomorrow which is coming out of this money too. Anyway, I'll update all this on the new May threadApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Yeaaahhhhh!:j :j
End of the month and the total stayed at £61.68
Under budget by £38.32.:D
Have booked a Tescos order for Thursday 10th May as we have visitors for the following weekend - it includes plenty of grub, some cleaning stuff, laundry stuff but no toiletries. The total should be around £40 so that's a big chunk of next months £100 gone!
I'm refusing to go shopping until then - so 10 days to get through on what's already in the fridge, freezer and cupboards. Just need milk and bread etc to keep us going (hopefully OH will get those on his way home from work as he's the only one that actually uses them!)0
