What kind of Comps do you apply for?

I didn't know where to put this, couldn't find a forum for just talking about comps.
Just wondering, what types competitions do you go for?
I only apply for the competitions for things I would like to win/want/need but hubby says I should apply for all and sell any I don't want (If I win them of course lol). I PERSONALLY don't like to do this as (A) I would probably not have time to sell them and (B) it takes it away from people who WANT/NEED the item.
My main comps I go for are cash prizes, family holidays and cars. Those are the ones I need.
I keep bypassing the holidays for 2 as I don't want to have a holiday without our kids - do you think if we won one we could 'add' the kids to the holiday? Probably depends on the compy I would think.

Hope you're all having a great day and the comping fairy is on your side

things i want
TV, games console, games, DVDs, books etc0 -
I try and enter every holiday comp possible (with the exception of ones where you have to take children).
Then cash, concerts, electronics and dvds.
I'll only enter something else if I think "ooh so and so could use that".
I can understand wanting to sell something on if it's big and you could make some good cash on it. However, if it is a small item - I think you should let someone else have it.
That's my 2 cents anyway!0 -
I enter everything I think I would use. The only things I think I may end up selling if I were to win would be the odd DVD I would get if it was rubbish. Or say if the unthinkable happens and I actually win 2 of the same thing.
The things I dont enter for are tickets as I probably wouldnt be able to go, hoildays and trips away for 2 as we have 3 children and nowhere to leave them and all the DVD's/goody bags etc where the subject does not interest me.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -
I only enter for things that I could use/DH could use/could give as presents.
I don't enter for tickets unless the place is suitable for wheelchairs and close by.
I enter for things like iPads, TVs, books, DVDs, makeup, cash, vouchers etc.2019 Wins

yeah i dont enter for tickets for things unless its local
dont enter for holidays as we have pets and no pass ports
dont enter for cars as neither can drive
nor spa days as im not really interested in them0 -
I only entre comps for things that I need/want or would like also. I also do not entre any holiday comps for 2 people as we have kids.
Also I will only entre comps that do not take much effort, as I dont have a huge amount of time and want toget in as many as I can.
Good luck to everyone and I hope you win lots :beer:0 -
i enter competitions usually for things i or people i know but i don't mind people selling stuff they win , i would be tempted too

I only enter for things i want or things my friends/family would want (when i'm feeling nice lol.) The majority of them are for prizes that are of a high value.
It seems to be paying off as i've done really well this year!
I really don't have the time to enter all the comps on here...0 -
i enter for stuff that either i, my OH or my kids need or could use or anything we could give as a gift for bdays/xmas etc
i never enter the ones for tickets unless its within reasonable distance and a family ticketAUG WINS Octonauts goodies, wall scene worth £145, years supply of tea, quicksilver T.Shirt, bulldog skincare, cookbook, my little pony hair clips, collectors edt of Beano, Sony E-Reader, £75 experience voucher, 1D puzzles
Thankyou to all comp posters for doing a fantastic job and to all BE LUCKY!!!0 -
I only enter for things I want for myself, family, or as gifts. Haven't the time or inclination to enter the rest. Never do holidays or tickets as I wouldn't be able to use them. Have sold the odd item but only if I found it unsuitable after getting it e.g. an item of clothing that is supposedly in my size but then doesn't fit.2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400
