Only one guestzilla so far who informed me via my online guestbook that I had to invite her young grandson (who i've never even met) or she couldn't come. She's had 14 months notice and why can't his mother look after him??

    - surely it's up to you and as you said why can't his mum look after him or someone else. you and your OH might not want children there.

I feel quite lucky too lol! We had some people we were told we must invite them and now they're not coming, although we aren't really that bothered, it's the excuses they come out which annoy us. Saying they didn't have enough notice when the save the date cards were sent out 15 months before the wedding. Yeah right lol!

Thankfully that is about it. Everyone is excited and trying to be helpful, but we want to do everything ourselves! Nearly there :)

Awwww Fawny that's not in the spirit of sisterhood lol

Yeah I hope they calm down too.

Had a VERY VERY stroppy phone call from MIL2B last night. One of OH's cousins and his fiancee can't make our wedding due to childcare issues (did a whole thread on this so not going to go into too much detail). Anyway they announced last week that they are getting married July 26th 2013 which is a Friday.

Me & OH discussed it straight away and have already said we won't be able to go because we will have no holiday left due to taking time off for ours and the honeymoon. We would need to take between 2 1/2-3 days off each. Plus because me & OH will be living apart then it's going to make getting to the wedding a bit of a nightmere.

We told MIL2B and she was a bit peeved. We haven't told the couple yet as they are now on holiday and I don't want to bother them I'll tell them as soon as they are back.

Now MIL2B has "discussed" this situation with her friends and they all think that we are doing it on purpose as how do we know nearly a year in advance that we won't have any holiday. Ermmm we know the date of our wedding & honeymoon that's how we know. They also have said that by us not going we are stopping MIL2B going as now she won't have a lift. God forbid she gets her scrawny butt on a bus or slums it in a taxi

    Grrrr

Now we're getting to the crux of it. I'm astonished when people say "oh you've got to invite that swathe of people otherwise because so and so isn't going then *more important person* won't have a lift and won't be able to go.

So you end up inviting 10 more people at god knows what cost so that one person can avoid using a train.

Tell me about it, my mum was telling me that my eldest aunt on my dad's side was whinging that she only liked plain potatoes or chips, not covered in stuff, and that the cold beef wasn't cooked (I thought it was lovely, perfectly cooked rare breeds beef), and she didn't like OH's aunt, who funnily enough behaves the same way as my aunt!

And then she complained that she should have got the Krispy Kreme doughnuts for us, we were on Isle of Wight, and we had to go to Portsmouth to collect which didn't bother us as we had a look round Gunwharf Quays at the same time, then she complained that I didn't reply to any of her texts - I'm sorry but I don't like this particular aunt and all she wanted to do was muscle in on my wedding - by the time she'd text me OH and I had already done everything!

Then I found out from my sister that she upset my future BIL by taking his daughter away from him when she cried, he commented that he hadn't seen her all week (my sister, niece and mum had gone to IW for a weeks holiday), and he promptly got told 'well I never see her!'

    There's no pleasing some people!

But every other guest enjoyed themselves!

Unfortunately I am inviting 2 children (who I know and like!) so couldn't tell her it was a blanket ban ;)

Sounds like I could have had it much worse hearing some stories though!

Scotsbride I did and she hung up on me and rang OH saying to him "Oh I know Faith can't come but you could come on your own" to which he replied "No I can't I have no holiday left which I have told you and from the FB message I just received Faith has told you too. Now I'm at work & can;t talk Goodbye" & hung up.

Yippee OH is finally growing a backbone against his mother I'm so proud
