Why not drop your phone down the toilet and then claim on your ORANGE insurance.
Firstly not all people insure their mobiles and those who do don't necessarily do this through their network.
Secondly, how is this better? Do you expect a 'new for old' replacement from Orange insurance?rolleyes.gif
  • As it happens, I get Orange insurance for free due to a friends and family offer, and this will last the duration of the contract.

OP has insurance with his network, personally i would 'loose' phone and claim

The problem with that is the excess of up to £50 anyway
It's not just about the money

I think I would rather 'lose' the phone.

£50 is a lot better than hundreds for a new one or to pay off the contract.

...but it's a lot worse then getting the same refurbished handset for free under warranty/SOGA.

I'm not sure that taking a phone that has a 1 year guarantee on a 3 years contract is necessarily saving money.

Neither is paying £770 over 3 yrs.
