Ticketmaster & Paralympic tickets

I am so upset - I was desperate to see Wheelchair Basketball at the Paralympics and originally put in for them in the first round of ticketing and didn't get anything, but some came up for sale on Thursday afternoon and after sitting waiting for the rotten website to tell if I had managed to buy them or not I was thrilled to get a confirmation email. I went over to Stratford to pick them up only to be told they weren't validated on their system (?), and the payment hadn't gone through. Apparently it's nothing to do with my VISA card it was just a boo-boo on their website and they're very sorry. Is there anything I can do? I suspect not as it's all sold out but I was gutted to have waited an hour to pick them up only to be told sorry nothing we can do. Everyone else was walking off with their tickets and massive smiles on their faces!

Just keep persisting on the website as they release new tickets daily.0

I think I am going to go nuts if I have to sit online trying to get more tickets, I already follow TicketAlert and as soon as any tkts come up they go. I only got them as 45,000 were released in one go. It's so infuriating, I was so close and it was TicketMaster or whoever's stupid system that ballsed it up!0

When TicketAlert advise that tickets are available, about 200,000 people (including you) simultaneously connect to the website to attempt to buy them. So at that stage you've got a cat in hell's chance.
That's why you have to try on the official 'London 2012' website regularly through the day to have any chance of bagging one. I don't know why you mention Ticketmaster.
And there is an option to print the tickets at home so you don't have to make a special trip to Stratford to collect them.0 -
The people at Stratford said it was a Ticketmaster error as they're the ones behind the ticket sales. They said I can ring Ticketmaster but all they'll do is confirm I haven't got the ticket and sorry for that but nothing they can do.
I think the problem is it's all a matter of luck as to whether you happen to be online when tickets come up. I wanted to pick up the tickets so I got proper Paralympic tickets to keep rather than a paper printed off one. Wish I hadn't bothered now.
Back to the Paralympic site with my refresh button...0 -
I presume by ticket alert your using the 2012 ticket checker? If not the website is http://2012ticketchecker.com/ add the sessions your interested in and set audio alerts and walk away from your PC for a while. Tickets have been released in large batches around 3-4pm typically but I've also seen smaller batches become available in the morning.
You can choose to have them posted for £6 so thats another option but guess its easier to pick them up if your local. There's still quite a few tickets to be released so keep checking.0 -
Thanks so much for this, hadn't realised there was this website.
Someone has just very kindly given me a spare day pass to the Excel Centre which is for when the basketball is on, it says you can have access to the other arenas depending on availability, do you reckon this means I might be able to get in to see it without having a formal ticket? It's not really clear if it means you can go in to watch, or whether you're likely to even get in.0 -
With a day pass you can go and watch different events, like basketball. I'm guessing they'll have first come first serve seating available for day pass tickets. So if you really want to see basketball, you should probably get there early.0

I have just managed to buy tickets for the swimming, using the 'strongly recommended' option to print the tickets at home. I have received the confirmation email but there seems to be no reference to how to print the tickets. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Also this option does not include a travel card sent in advance - the advice appears to be that you can pick this up from the ticket office at the venue in the day itself! Thanks.0

I GOT TICKETS! They just released a load online. I too went for the print option, then realised how do I get my travelcard.
I guess I will look once I am able to get into my account to see if you can print them off that way? I might go back to Stratford before the games to see if I can pick up the tickets instead and a travelcard, it says you can pick it up on the day which isn't much good!!0 -

You can't print off a travelcard, although they will issue one on production of the printed-off ticket at the Stratford box office. That is the downside of printing at home.0
