Thank you for your reply and we will wait for some times if nothing happens will phone them to be sure every thing is fine0 -
Yeah it'll be a waiting game then... you could contact the DWP if you wanted to enquire about delays but in all honesty you'll probably just get frustrated that they give generic statements or cant tell you anything significant at all. Make sure you keep regular check that ESA payments are being made to bank account as expected. Someone recently reported reaching a year for their WCA... back in 2008/9 I waited 11 months for mine to start...12 months by time completed... rather makes a mockery of the '3 month assessment phase'... talk about tins not describing the contents..lol"Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0

To give people an idea of time scales for Cambridge area - I applied for ESA via a phone call on a Friday in Feb (contributions one for me). The form was sent out to me to check and sign and I got a letter advising that I would be getting (£67.50 /week) for next 13 weeks. I got sent the PW1 form as I was working back then and was doing only 12 hours per week, which just fitted in for both hours and amount of £97.50. Then another letter came and told me rate would be £71 /week after 11th April. At around week 13 - having heard not a thing I rang them up to ask what had happened, to be told I had to have a medical and that they would start the process off. Meanwhile to keep sending in Fit notes (sick notes as was). Then the ESA50 arrived and I completed it using the correct descriptors and everything relevant to my current medical history - Finally on 19th June got 1st appointment for medical, which they cancelled as I got there. Got reimbursed my petrol costs of £9 for 18 miles. New appointment granted same day and 4 days later that too got cancelled so I waited for next one, which finally arrived for the 24 July. Went to that and saw a Dr, who knew all about my medical illness and did relevant test on me asked correct questions and she could see how exhausted I am with my illness, so she ended it early, to let me conserve what little energy I did have. Must admit I was paranoid that I'd fail it, but due to the problems I have - I went straight into the support group for 3 years. I was then given the back dated payment to week 14, which arrived in my bank account same day as the letters. One telling me of award and which group, next was backdated note and the other was just telling me I had been successful. So time was 10 Feb to 6th Aug. And not only that, I then got a letter telling me to fill out another claim form for petrol expenses and that £9 arrived today in bank account overnight. There may be delays, but to be honest, it went very smoothly really.0
