Redemption contracts
Hi all,
No doubt this topic has been aksed about before but I have looked and cant find anything recent.
I'm looking to get a fairly cheap (£10-15) mobile phone contract and have decided upon the Galaxy Ace 2 as its suits my needs and you get the package I want of 100 minutes/unlimited texts for around £15/month from Orange. However I then spotted mobiles.co.uk who offer a similiar (slightly better/more minutes) contract with Orange for effectively £10.25 a month by redemption.
I have read up and understand about how the schemes work whereby you have to be on top of any paperwork (terms/bills) and you need you need to send back receipts on time. But in practice as long as you do all of this is it okay to get the money back? Would I get a paper bill in the post that I send back or do I get the bill online? Is mobiles.co.uk a safe site to use? Are there any other recommendations? Or am I better to just buy direct from Orange and pay £5/month more?
Sorry for the long winded explanation and thanks in advance,
Jonathan

Hi, plenty of people don't pay attention to the detail and then come on here whingeing when the cashback fails.
As long as you are 100% sure that you can meet the terms and conditions then give it a try. ( read mobilejunkie's guide first though ).
I must have had well over 35 such contracts now and have never had a failure .
The bill comes from the network so whether you get a paper bill varies depending on who you use.But in practice as long as you do all of this is it okay to get the money back? Would I get a paper bill in the post that I send back
On my last couple of contracts with mobiles.co.uk I sent t-mobile online bills in using mobiles.co.uk online claim system and had no issues.0 -
There are plenty of threads on this, however....
You will find on here good and bad experiences of most of the companies that offer redemption deals. Generally, if you follow the requirements to the letter, checking all Ts&Cs, you will be ok. Some require printed bills, others will accept online. You have to check each one as there's no general rule. If you are prepared to do the extra work to get the cashback, you can get a good deal.
Alternatively, you could try the online cashback sites like Quidco, and from there go direct to one of the retailers or networks?0 -
Generally yes, but there can be complications and you have to to on the top of everything, not just paperwork and schedule.I have read up and understand about how the schemes work whereby you have to be on top of any paperwork (terms/bills) and you need you need to send back receipts on time. I don't quite understand what 'receipts' you are going to send and where.
This depends on you and your network. Most networks encourage paperless billing nowadays. Mobiles.co.uk accept electronic copies that you can upload via their website.Would I get a paper bill in the post that I send back or do I get the bill online?
Up to you.Is mobiles.co.uk a safe site to use? Are there any other recommendations? Or am I better to just buy direct from Orange and pay £5/month more?
