O2 charging me £43 to reconnect when moving home!

Just called O2 to say we're moving home and to reconnect us at our new property for broadband and landline/calls (we're in a contract til Dec).
They said that's fine but we haven't got the right connection (hatever that is) at our new address and to connect us up there will be a £43 fee to pay for a BT engineer to connect us!!
They had no trouble when I signed up to them so why are they now charging me a fee?!
Is this normal??!!

Yes,It's either they're actually charging you the £43 to disconnect your service from the property you're moving from,that's a charge that's levied by most ISP's,if you were simply moving suppliers & not moving home,then you wouldn't pay this charge.
If you're moving from LLU to what we call Off Net,which is a Resold BT product,or visa versa,than that may also be what the charge is for.

Its more likely that the address your moving to has a full MPF/LLU line(talk talk or sky etc) and Openreach charge O2 to convert this to a WLR3 line for you to take over as an O2 customer. O2 usually charge £86.81 for a new line so £43 is a bit less than normal.
