Hiya,
This year I am hosting a kids Halloween party and although I have some ideas for ornamental decoration...carved pumpkins, pipe cleaner spiders etc. I am a bit stumped for house decoration ideas! How do I get that spooky look?
Also besides bobbing for apples, what other games are there??
I know this is all a bit early but I am on a bit of a budget and want to allow time for making things. There will be 15 kids total all aged between 4-11 so any ideas would be more than welcome!
Thanks in advance!

I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
Poundland and Poundworld have some fab hallowe'en bits in (closer to the time), and try wilkinsons for bigger things.
Oh and marthastewart.com is great for makes and crafts0 -
A great place for Halloween ideas is It's all fiddle fart. If you type it in to google you will come up with a great blog for all ideas. Scroll down the right hand side and you will see a list of her ideas. Look at Halloween0

Hi are you creative or do you prefer to buy. Also what ages are you planning for, don't want too scary if they are little. I once made a fruit punch, red of course. Instead of ice cubes I filled a latex glove with water and froze it. The hand was then put, minus the glove, into the punch bowl.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I pull out the white stuffing from a pound store pillow and make cobwebs on door frames/bookshelves etc0

A friend of a friend used an old burst / torn black trampoline net which was really only fit for the bin as decoration.
She tore it some more and placed it round her windows and doors and sprayed fake snow on it and put fairy / christmas lights behind it for effect.
I have to say it looked fantastic, sort of web like.
Hope the above makes sense.0 -
Our main feature last year was Gary
Our house has a big front window so I bought a single white sheet... put a hook up to hang it from (OH thought I was bloomin crazy at first!!)
I was a little stumped as to what to do for a head but I ended up blowing up a balloon and attached it underneath the sheet ... printed off a ghost face which my 'arty' daughter copied onto the sheet to make the face and hung him up (failing that, you could just cut it out and stick it onto the sheet! it was a friendly ghost face!)
We then threaded some cotton to the sides of the sheet and attached them to the sides of the window to 'flare' out the sides of the sheet to look ghostly!
My OH (who then got involved with it!!), went and got a little fan and put it underneath him - that was Gary.. the Ghost!!
He really looked fab from outside - we didn't have a party - it was just to get into the spirit (get the pun??!) of Halloween. but am sure you could do similar in a corner of one of your rooms?
It worked out to be around £3 and it was the talk of the village - will bring him out again this year (after I've ironed him!! :rotfl:)0
