Sometimes I get home and I don't have the energy to spend a while cooking. This week for example, I cannot seem to get motivated. I therefore think I need some assistance. For example, tonight I cooked pizza and chips in 15 minutes.
Anyone got any healthy foods they can whip up in less than 30 minutes? I need something to stop me from just serving pizza and chips. At least
its slighly better than eating out in terms of money. The pizzas were three for 94p in Lidl!!
So in your responses try to keep it cheap - oh and I m a veggie lol:eek:
Come on keep me on the straight and narrow.

I'll plump for the easy one - stirfy. Take any and all veg in the fridge, chop an appropriate quantity into similar sized bits and fry in a hot wok with a tiny amount of oil, add soy sauce and any other flavouring you like. Add hardest stuff first and soft stuff last. Mean while boil some noodles. At the last second hoy the drained noodles in with the veg. Toss together and serve. Yum

(just a question on the rules - does it mean under 30 minutes fresh on the night?)
cos cooking stuff in advance drastically reduced cooking time on a night. mass cooking of a weekend when you have time saves it in the midweek when you don't
also making stuff like pizza bases on a saturday when you just wanna punch some dough means you can roll them out and freeze them on greaseproof paper for another time. PM me for the recipe, or check the magnificent index...0 -

when i was working i found it alot easier to get organised the night before, know what you are having the next day and get it prepared as much as poss beforehand, get all your veggies etc chopped and in the fridge waiting for you to get home and cook. a slow cooker would be good for you as well as you can just bung it all in and turn on in the morning and come home to a lovely warm homecooked meal. why not try bulk cooking and do yourself a dozen or so homemade micro meals that you can freeze.. maybe a veggie lasagna or bean casserole and portion them up into small containers and nuke in micro when you really cant be botheredproper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0

I am a veggie too :j
Jacket potatoes (zap in mcrowave for 5 minutes then whack in oven for rest of time)
Pasta with tomato and veggie sauce
Turn leftovers into pasta bake by toppong with cheese and breadcrumbs the next night
Quorn fillets with tomato and veggie sauce and rice
Tortilla wraps with veggie fajita mix (like stir fries)
Sausage (veggie) beans and mash
Fried egg (use frylight to make it healthy) and potato wedges with veg
All should be doable in half an hour.

Some of my favourite 'quickies' are...
Pasta with feta cheese and peas
Omelette
Jacket potato (microwaved) with beans and cheese
toasted sandwiches with tomato soup
salad with avocado, hardboiled eggs and tomato
There is a very good Nigel Slater book (is it called 'real fast food' or something like that?) It's full of recipes that take less than 30 mins.0 -
OK, what are your cooking instruments?
Obviously a microwave makes things easier ... but by the same token, if you have a slow cooker, the prep time is similar even though the cooking time can be considerably longer; likewise with a pressure cooker!
It's horse for course in some respectsWhat cooking facilities are available?
