So you think £110 a month on mobile phones & data is reasonable when someone is struggling to pay PDLs? Even if only one contract was cancelled then selling the phone would offset the cost of this.
£39 or £55 a month for a single contract is daft when someone has PDL problems.[/QUOthanks for the advice but if you look atthe sums, orange is 55 per month, i still have 12 months left, thats £655 to pay off! i dont know of many phones that are worth that! sorry to be protencious but i have looked into all options! luckily or not so luckily, im going to afghan next month and orange have allowed me to hold the contract for 6 months. this will allow me to put that £55 towards other debts!0 -
Was there some Life Insurance nonsence tagged with this "Savings Plan?"chris_debtfreewannabe wrote: »i took this savings account out when i joined the army, it was with scottish friendly! i rang them tuesday and asked to cash the savings in which i am going to do when the paper work comes in! only thing is ive been paying into for 25 months and only get 370 back! work that one out?? on the brightside i am going to use the money to pay off both credit cards!
This was common when I joined the Forces, they jump on the young and innocent as soon as they join hoodwinking them into signing up for poor products.
Most of the salesman are people who have just left the forces so have enough contacts to go back on site peddling their new wares for commision based sales tripe.0 -

oh its absolutely unreasonable, no doubt about that. But the OP has already been made aware, no need for your judgment is there?DISCLAIMER - Whilst I am a qualified and practicing CTA any advice i provide should not be relied upon as i have no possibility of confirming individual circumstances. no it was with a company called scottish friendly! the plan seemed really good at a the time, it was a small amount per month and after 10 years i would come out with about £5000, but this was based on inflation! at the time i was a bit blind to interest rates, but now i know a bit more, and the base rate being 0% id rather keep the money under my pillow0 -
Are you talking from experience then? As a DMP with CCCS is Free and 100% of the money goes on your debts.
Would it have a less of a affect on your credit rating if you just deal with the company?
Yes, I have some experience with it
Which is why if you absolutle must go with a DMP, go with CCCS.
They are still usually rather slow at making arrangements though, so your debts will increase in the meantime. And they rarely come to a better arrangement than you could have done yourself.0
