Not gonna lie, but im very much in the same boat as you, in quite a few ways, jobs, debts, problems.
but i too have come to point were it has got on top of me now. And im looking into getting a DMP as with that it really will kick me up the !!!! and make me stop my addiction and sort it out!!
With ya phones, ring up the company of the contract ur not using and tell them that ur not using it AT ALL. And they will drop it down to the minimum tariff possible (prob about £15, just done it meself)Step Change Debt (CCCS)

Might I make a recommendation? Don't go with a DMP, and if you absolutely must go with CCCS and cancel any active cards before notifying the payday loan companies.
If you enter a DMP your lender will likely claim it breaks the terms and conditions and set your account to collect in full, then sweep it on your pay date.
Most DMCs will also take ages to get round to paying the companies you owe money to, and take the first few months payments themselves. In this time your balance with those companies will not be frozen, and they will be unlikely to reduce interest or offer you any kind of deals as the payment plan will be negotiated by the DMC not yourself.
Anyway, just thought I'd point it out. It'll probably be much cheaper for you to enter into payment plans with the companies directly.0 -
Are you talking from experience then? As a DMP with CCCS is Free and 100% of the money goes on your debts.
Would it have a less of a affect on your credit rating if you just deal with the company?Step Change Debt (CCCS)

Dealing with the addiction to mobile communications would also help.£110 a month is madness.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
alright pal, i also was looking into a dmp. although on here i found alot of useful information, the only thing i am really struggling with is the wonga and payday loans etc. So i have decided to contact them myself. So far i rang them tuesday and they sent me an email with an SOA. i sent this back and still waiting on a reply. hopefully i they will let me pay in instalments. i also have saving which i am going to take out, £300 to pay of both credit cards, to save me building up interest! from there hopefully its just a case of watching my spending, having money in the bank at the end of the month and paying of debts with it!
Good luck anyway pal!0 -

I'm still completely bewildered why you are putting £25 a month into savings when you have such crippling debts to service you are looking at a DMP.
How much is in the savings pot and why aren't you using ALL of it to clear these hideous debts?
You're paying a LOT more than £25 a month just in added interest.0 -

So you think £110 a month on mobile phones & data is reasonable when someone is struggling to pay PDLs? Even if only one contract was cancelled then selling the phone would offset the cost of this.
£39 or £55 a month for a single contract is daft when someone has PDL problems.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
