in Water bills
Hi all
Moving into a 2 bed terrace and just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how much im likely to spend each month on water?
Assume I'll be there alone having a shower once a day and using a dishwasher, central heating.
Anyone in a similar position be able to give me an idea?
Thanks!

Could be anything. The average person uses around 155 litres per day. However, the average person has a garden that they water, a car that they wash, they do some hand washing of dishes, they'll wash their clothes in a washing machine a few times a week and go to the toilet and hopefully wash their hands once done. The average person is also a member of a larger household and may use less (per person) than a single person home all day but more than a single person living in a flat.
If you asked my water company they say the average person on a water meter uses a little less at about 145 litres per day or about 1 cubic metre per week due to those families watching what they use by installing water saving devices in the toilet and on the shower head...etc...
You then need to ask your water company what the cost of water is per cubic metre then multiply it by the number of occupants then multiply by the number of weeks that you occupy the property in a year (accounting for holidays away) then add the standing charges then divide it by 12.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I have a 1 bed studio flat - washing machine on twice a week, 5 lots of washing up a week, a shower a day, probably use the loo about 4 times a day....
21.72 per month!0 -
Thanks guys!
I doubt i'll use it more than you coinxoperated so thats a good guide in particular.0 -
Water charges vary a huge amount across the country. If you are unlucky enough to live in the West Country(from a water supply point of view!) you could pay up to 3 times as much as other parts of the country.
Incidentally, you haven't stated if the property has a water meter or not; that also could greatly affect costs.0 -

Impossible to know because you don't say a) which water region (charges vary but up to 250%) and b) whether the property is metered or not? If not metered, then the billing will be quite easy to work once you find out the RV.
PS: central heating does not use any water, it's a sealed system.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

There are so many things that can affect your bill so without more info no one here can tell you the answer.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
