Orange Roaming offer (or not)

I turned my roaming off abroad.
I received repeated texts from Orange stating I can purchase (can't remember how many) megabites of data for £15.
All I had to do was text back "yes." I then got confirmation by text saying I had purchased this deal.
I used the phone very selectively during this period.

My bill is now showing £450 of extra dats used abroad.

Orange have no record of any texts or payment due of £15.

I (stupidly) deleted these texts. What do I do now.
has anyone else received or purchased this deal?

I've been trying to get Orange to look into this. Speaking to the robots abroad is always a pain. I keep getting cut off after being on hold ages.

When you receive a very large data roaming bill, even if you didn't bother to look into data roaming bundles in advance (despite the fact that you did), Orange will usually recalculate your bill as if you had bought the most favourable bundles. Ask them to do this.
  • I will do. Do you think the texts I got were not from Orange then?

Yes, they probably were, but Orange's systems are far from infallible.
  • how come they have no record of this though? It's strange! i was hoping someone else heard of this before

There probably is a record somewhere in the depths of some system that customer services don't have access to, but it's too much effort for them to find it.
