changing a non-changeable flight

Thanks all, so helpful!0

Was out in Greece a couple of years back with the family. Daughter picked up an ear infection and was told not to fly until it cleared up.
Although we would have been covered by the travel insurance anyway, to save this hassle I contacted BA to see if we could delay the flight by 5 days and they said no problem. And that was supposedly a non-changeable ticket.
Probably depends who you get to speak to, what sort of mood they are in and so on. Worth a go - the worst that can happen is they tell you to get lost.0 -
interesting, thanks. I might try calling BA again see who I get. The insurance route is proving quite slow mainly as it seems to be such an effort to get my records from A&E to my GP. I made so many calls yesterday to a and e and the gp trying to get them to organise this - need to continue today as it still isn't done. So frustrating. Yesterday when I called the hospital on a number of the calls I got a message saying "there is no one to take your call and you can't leave a message" -

the caring profession.
I sympathize as I can imagine how annoying and frustrating that must be.
The ones to blame, however, are not those that are too busy and / or too thin on the ground to answer your call but those who fail to fund the health system adequately.
Trying BA again won't cost you much and it may indeed be a question of getting the agent you end up with to exercise the discretion I believe (from personal experience) they have in such cases. It won't hurt to tell them why you chose BA over other airlines in the first place and that you've always received a good service from them in the past. Good luck.0 -
Thanks, good points. I have flown BA a lot in the past - I'm sure they can see this. I was very polite when I called and explained my situation, but nothing to do... If they could move the flight it would be so much easier considering how difficult it is speaking with the different NHS depts.0
